Chapter 9: Party

“Good morning” I said and sat with them. “So um how are you doin?” Sam rubbed his cheek and turned to me. “You tell me” moving the scrambled egg in plate with my fork “Ready for your first day at school tomorrow, you two?!”Tori broke the silence I could never understand her excitement, she’s always hyped, fun person to be around tbh.

“you two?” I raised an eyebrow, what does she mean us two? Me and SAM? He has school back there, which I miss honestly. They all looked at each other, its like they were hiding something

“listen…Alex” Sam licked his lips. “They think im the one who killed you” he continued. “who thinks?” i put the fork down. “everyone, your parents, brother, friends, everyone in school, neighborhood so now the cops are looking for me” He said unpleasant. “who told them?” I looked down.

“I think it was Derick, and you know I have a ‘past’ so im an easy target for them” he avoided eye contact, “So they’re looking for you now” well I don’t blame them for thinking he killed me. “yupp” he responded popping the p.

I can hear him exhaling. 

“I will go take care of some stuff, be back at around 7” Sam left.

“oh look Ellen is on” Tori increased the volume.

“You gotta love Ellen, She’s the funniest human being” I walked and sat on the couch.

“Oh lord save me, im sick of being around girls the whole time, im starting to lose my manly self.” Brandon rolled his eyes.  “ btw theres a party over at my friend’s house, So you girls in?”

“sure, we could use a little fun!” Tori said with no hesitation.

“Um i’ll pass, you two go and have fun” I clenched my teeth. I just want to sleep and sleep and sleep, since if im sleeping I wont be crying.

“Cmon Alex, if you’re not going then im not” Tori urged.

“I don’t like parties, plus I have nothing to wear. Thanks for the invitation tho”

“so? Its still early lets go do some shopping!” Tori stood on her feet ready to go.

“Yeah you girls go, and Alex it will be a great opportunity for you to meet everyone so tomorrow it wont be very awkward” Brandon gave Tori a credit card.

“ill go change, be back in a sec” I went to my room and put on a shirt and pants, im surprised Sam knew my style in clothing almost everything he got me is sporty kinda thing.

“lets go” I smiled and walked out with Tori. We got in her beautiful red car “wow Tori”

“like my car? We will get you one soon don’t worry” She smiled back and left me confused

 get me one? They got me an apartment, now shes buying me a dress and they want to get me a car? Why are they doing this? There’s no way to find out without asking her, so I did. “Tori, I don’t want to sound rude and ungrateful but why are you doing this?”

“Doing what?”

“helping me? I mean im sure the Apartment costs a lot and stuff, and we barely know each other” I looked out the window as we were passing by beautiful buildings.

“You know Alex, when me and Brandon runaway and everything we were still young, so we got adopted by a VERY rich family, They passed away last year and left their fortune for us and we love to give back” She glanced at me.  I just nodded.  

“we’re here! This mall has my top 10 stores you’re going to love them” Tori parked and escorted me inside. Its been a while since I felt like a normal teenage girl, getting in stores and stuff. I loved a lot of the clothes I saw but the price tag made me walk away.

 After a while of roaming around

“Damn why is everything so expensive?” I said as I checked the price tag of beautiful dress.

“Oh god Alex, listen I don’t want you to look at the price tags! Just pick anything you like, I mean it”

And that’s what I did.. well, almost. I liked two dresses but one was cheaper than the other so I chose the cheaper one. I don’t want to be a weight on them. “this is the one” I smiled.

“you sure?” Tori had three dresses with her.

“positive”

“well then, you have four now.” She said and walked to the cashier. I didn’t want to interrupt and go like ‘no don’t get it’ since the place was crowded. The receipt was $2500 DAMN. Is all I could say.

“that’s a lot of money, Tori”

“Alex, you’re one of us now PLEASE ignore the money”

As we were on our way to starbucks, Two handsome guys approached us “Hey Tori” They greeted.

“Hey guys, Its been a while” they pulled close for a hug.

“Whos your friend?”

“Oh right, this is Briyana. Briyana this is Dean and Jake” she pointed at them

“Nice to meet you” I said shyly, they said the same

“Okay see you two hotties around” he grinned, Tori laughed and we entered Starbucks, We had a casual conversation until we realized the time.

“Its 4:00!” Tori glanced at her watch.

“oh right, time passed so quickly “ it sure did, it was fun.  “Okay girl cmon lets go back and get lunch on our way” We left, its been a while since I could say im enjoying this moment, Im happy I met Tori. On our way we stopped at McDonalds and got back home.

“What took you so long? Im starving” Brandon rushed once we opened the door. Somehow Sam looked happy.

“Lets eat we have a party to catch” I said. They all looked at each other and smiled, Once we were done eating me and Tori went upstairs and got ready.

“TORI AND ALEX HURRY UP” Brandon shouted from downstairs

“im so nervous” i bit my lips hard. I was wearing a short dress, high heels and a lot of make up.

“ Well don’t be! You look stunning and im pretty sure everyone will like you” Tori held my shoulder and smiled. We walked downstairs and I saw Brandon and Sam there waiting, once they saw us they both stood up and mouthed ‘wow’

“You look amazing Alex” Brandon stated.

“ehmmm..” Tori glared at Brandon.

“C’mon you always look beautiful, and I don’t have to remind you how perfect you are” He hugged her. We walked and got into Brandon’s car.

“You look beautiful” Sam whispered. “Thanks” I smiled back. Nothing but silence all the way until we reached the place.  

“Don’t get her too drunk, Tori” Brandon assured her.
