"Daddy! You're home." The small child said with joy as two men entered her bedroom. Her father wrapped his arms around her and smiled. "Hello Mas, where is mommy? " He asked. "In the dining room." She replied. He nodded and left the room leaving the other man alone with his daughter. "Hello Uncle Wolf." She said to the man."Hello Masis, how are you?" She asked her. "Good, I'm so glad you're back." She replied. He smiled and ran his fingers through her long black hair. "What were you and daddy doing while you were gone?" She asked her uncle. "Just talking to some leaders." He said it quietly as if it was painful to talk about. "Wolf!" Called a female voice. "I'm coming."He replied." Goodnight." He walked out of the room as Masis got into her bed and shut her eyes.
When she woke up she looked around her room, the room was now filled with scrolls, armor, and swords instead of toys. She remembered that night, it was the night after the war started and she hadn't realized it at that time. That was the last night she saw her uncle, she never knew what happened to him. Her bedroom door opened and Lakisi walked in with a cup of tea on his hand. "Good morning Masis." "Good morning." He handed her the cup of tea and smiled at her. "You had a dream." He said to her."How did you know?" She asked. "You were talking in your sleep." Lakisi replied. "I was dreaming of the last time I saw my Uncle Wolf. " A tear fell down her cheek."I remember Wolf, quite a wild one in his younger days. " Lakisi said with a laugh. She smiled at him, the first genuine smile in a long time.
Lakisi walked out of the girl's room, meeting his wife outside the room. "How is she?" Asked Lucika. "Better, she seems a bit more comfortable here." He told her. "I would hope she was more comfortable after staying her for two months." She said with a slight smile.
Masis slowly stood up and walked out of her bedroom to find the couple outside of her room. "Good morning Mas, how did you sleep?" Lucika asked the girl with a smile. "Fine." She told her. Lakisi looked at the two happily. "I must be off, I have some work to do. "He told them. "I'll be back soon. " He kissed his wife while pulling her into his arms. He let go of her and hugged Masis, who smiled at him." He left the two alone. "Follow me, dear. I have something to show you." She told Masis quietly. She lead the girl into a basement where she opened a chest and pulled out a beautiful painting. The painting had two woman and three men standing togther with arms around each other, the man to the far left had short blonde hair and a smug look on his face as he pulled a beautiful woman with long light brown hair close to him. Next to them there was two tall men who looked almost exactly alike, they had short black and a strong build, they were smiling with arms around each other. Next to them stood a woman with shoulder length, black hair, she seemed to be looking off into the distance not paying attention to anything happening near her. The woman was strangely familar. "This is a painting of Me, Lakisi, Wolf and your parents." She told her pointing to each one of them as she said their names. Masis touched her mother, who seemed distracted by something in the distance. She smiled at the thought of her parents and uncle.
