Eight years later
After eight years of living with Lakisi and Lucika, the couple took in Masis as their own.
She had a family again, after losing everthing, she had recovered. Her and her family's house in the woods was well hidden from any enemies.
"Mother!" The now sixteen year old yelled. "What is it darling?" Lucika replied. "May I go see the castle?" She asked with a smile. It was the only way for her to get into the kingdom to investigate. "No, you know can't go down there. " She said sternly. "Please, I'll be careful, I won't let anyone see me." Masis pleaded. It had been so long since saw her old home, no one had been there since the attack. The girl rarely even set foot near her people, she had been forbidden from leaving the woods.
It of course was for her own safety, if someone saw the dead princess walking around surely the news would get around but she still had to find out who did this. She had waited so long. Masis well remebered when her parents brought home a letter reporting the death of the queen and princess. "No!" Lucika said loudly.
Masis quickly ran to her room and locked the door. She saw her uncle's sword hung on the wall, she quickly grabbed it from the wall. She opened her desk and saw a green bag, she was always told she could never open the desk. When she looked inside the bag a piece of parchment was inside, it had the initials U.W. on one side.
She turned it over to see a note, it said
My dearest niece, Masis. When you read this I will most likely be dead or captured, and you will be with Lakisi and Luci. I know you're going to go back into the kingdom to find our parents' murderers, so I've given you this bag and have requested that my sword be hung on your room's wall. Remeber to be careful and trust very few people, alot of people want you dead.
The best of wishes, Wolf.
She felt a smile appear on her face, "Thanks Uncle Wolf. " She whispered. She opened her bedroom door and peaked out, luckily her father wasn't home so she only had to look out for her mother. She was no where to be seen so Masis stepped forward with her uncle's sword, clothes, and a map stuffed in her bag.
She sprinted to the kitchen where she grabbed bread fruit and meat and stuffed it into the bag, when she heard a sound she dreaded, footsteps. She quickly stuffed the wornout bag under her family's birch table and stood up just as her mother walked in. "Hello Mas. "Salutations Lucika. "She replied, then realized her mistake; she only called her mother by her name when she was scared. "Love, are you okay?" Her mother questioned, worried. "Nothing. " Masis replied quietly. A simple nod was given by her mother before leaving. Mas got her bag from under the table and sighed as she headed towards the door.
Who knew she would be back from her journey to find those murderers.
