I lay on the very uncomfortable bed, biting my lip as I anxiously wait for the doctor. Dad sighs, resting his head on his hand. I quietly giggle as he starts to doze off. His head shoots up when the door opens and I figure I should sit up.

"Hello, I'm Doctor Farley. How are you doing, Lucille?" She asks, walking over to shake my hand.

"Pretty well." I reply.

"Is this the father?" She points at Dad, and we both quickly tell her no.

"No, this is my Dad. The father had to work." Sam decided to have Embry run patrol, which I was not happy about. I thought he would understand this is important, but I guess he didn't. Dad wasn't happy when I lied and said he had work, but it's not like I could tell him the real reason he couldn't make it.

"Okay, Lucille you can go ahead and lie down. I'm going to put this gel on your stomach, which will help me be able to see the baby clearly." She lifts my shirt high enough that only my stomach shows, rubbing the gel onto the visible skin. I suck in a breath, not expecting it to be cold. Dr. Farley sets this weird tool on my stomach, moving it back and forth across the gel. "Oh, there's your baby." She points to the computer screen. My eyes begin to tear up as I stare at the tiny figure. I can't believe it, this is actually happening. Dad places a hand on my shoulder; and when I look over at him, he's crying as well.

"He's so beautiful." I whisper.

"It's too early to tell the gender, but we will be able to find out in a couple of weeks." Doctor Farley says as she hands us a copy of the picture of my baby. We wave goodbye to her, exiting the building and getting in Dad's cruiser. He begins to drive home, but instead of turning right, he continues going straight.

"Where are we going?"

"Emily asked me to drop you off at her place, something bout a barbeque or something." I know he's lying, his ears always twitch when he does, but I don't press on. We arrive at the cozy home, Emily coming out to greet us. She pulls me towards the house, but stops at the door.

"Okay, what's going on? Dad and you are acting very strange."

"Guess you'll have to wait and find out." She smiles, pushing the door open. I gasp, covering my mouth in shock as I begin to cry. The boys stand in two lines, facing one another as they form an aisle. They all have cheeky Grins, but that's not what made me gasp. What did, was Embry, kneeling down at the other end of the aisle. He holds a small, velvet box in his hands. I slowly walk up to him until we're only inches apart.

"Lucille Holland Swan. I've known and loved you for years. I've always dreamt of marrying you, especially after you became my imprint. With our child on the way, I wanted to make my dreams a reality. Will you marry me?" Too nervous to trust my voice, I rapidly nod my head. Embry jumps up, enveloping me in a hug as the pack cheers. He pulls away, sliding the beautiful ring on my finger. I grab his face, pulling him down into a kiss.

After everything settled down, we actually did have a barbeque. Apparently my dad knew the whole time, since Embry asked for his permission. I suddenly remember the picture in my purse, and I quickly grab it and give it to Embry.

"What's this?" I don't day anything, wanting him to find out on his own. He scans it over, eyes turning glossy. "He's so beautiful."

"Wait! It's a boy?!" Paul asks, running over to us.

"No." I laugh at his excitement. "Well, it could be. We won't be able to know for a couple of weeks." He snatches the picture, running off to show everyone. Embry pulls me into his side, placing a kiss on my forehead.

"I love you Lucy."

"I love Embry."
