"Relax," The doctor stated growing red in the face. He didn't need anyone blowing up on him tonight, especially not any of these guys. "I was just going to say I'm sorry that none of you will be able to see them tonight. Due to the extensive amount of trauma to her body, we'd like to let Ms. Young get all the rest she needs to fully recuperate."
Dee calmed his breathing and looked up at the doctor. "Them?" He asked.
"Yes. We had to do an emergency C-section to deliver the baby. Both she and the mother will make a full recovery, but rest is critical right now." The doctor added.
Everyone was able to exhale a little after that, but Demetrius wasn't satisfied.
"So you're saying I can't see my baby girl either? How many pounds was she? Who cut the cord? Why didn't yall let me in the back?" He frowned shooting off questions angrily. The doctor swallowed the lump in his throat
"It's hospital policy in these type of situations, but I can let you see her through the nursery window. She was 6 pounds even, I cut the cord, and she is a beautiful little thing," he smiled.
"Can you show me?" Dee asked as his heart thumped in anticipation.
"Sure," the doctor smiled leading the way to the nursery.
"Take pictures," Anastasia called out. She was a nervous wreck waiting for an update on Ruby.
"Wait, I'm the grandmother." April called out to the doctor. "Can I come too?"
Dee was about to go off until the doctor stated that it was ok. April had been blaming him all night and Demetrius was more than ready to be out of her presence.
"I hope you don't mind Dee, but I put her on something I brought from the gift shop since Ruby was out of it." Porsha stated.
"That's cool," Dee shrugged ready to see his little one. Porsha nodded and made her way inside the nursery. She thoroughly washed her hands before walking over and grabbing the baby.
Dee couldn't hold back his tears as he stared at the perfection in front of him.
"She's beautiful," April gushed wiping away her own tears.
"Yeah she is," Dee smiled proudly as he pulled out his phone and snapped pictures for everyone to see.
Porsha walked off and placed the baby back inside the little makeshift crib they placed her in. She walked out smiling.
"You two did good, she's all Ruby too." She smiled making Dee smack his lips. "You guys thought of any names? She still doesn't have one."
Dee thought for a second, he knew Ruby wouldn't be too mad about him coming up with a name. If she didn't like what he decided on she could always change it.
"Karma," Dee smiled looking towards the baby. God came through for him on this one, and he was keeping every promise he made.
"Alright, I'll grab the birth certificate and you can start filling it in. We'll let Ruby do her portion when she wakes up." Porsha stated walking off.
