Kayla's P.O.V

I woke up and my uncle actually had come.

"Hi." I said before yawning.

"Hi. Haven't seen you in a while. How are you?"

"Well I'm in a hospital... so what do you think?"

"Yeah... Well the doctors said you can come home with me today. Don't worry I'm not gonna call your dad."

"You Know? why didn't you stop it?"

"I couldn't. Kara wouldn't believe me. She wouldn't let me take you in, but she would let me pay for lunch. I know its probably the only reason you haven't starved to death."

"Okay. When are we leaving."

"Right after you eat. I asked the cafeteria people if they could make pancakes because theyre your favorites." He said right as they brought me the food. Finally something good instead of the crap at school they call food. I scarfed it all down fast. I couldn't wait to see my aunt Kara and my cousins. I hadn't seen them since the funeral.

We drove an hour and a half before getting to their house. It was pretty long but defintly worth it. Anna, Emma, and Caleb all ran out to and gave me a huge hug. It hurt even with the pain meds, but it was worth it. Kara was making lunch and it smelled amazing. Ham, Potatoes, and corn were one of my favorites, especially when she made them.

"So how have you been Kayla?" said Kara

"Fine I guess."

"Do like to dance like your mommy did?" said Emma. She was only five so she didn't know not to talk about  stuff like that.

"Ummm... I used to, but its been a long time. What about you guys? Do you dance now?"

"I love to dance. Someday when I'm older I want to be a dancer." said Anna, who is eight.

"No, mommy said I too little to dance." said Emma.

"What do you do Caleb?'

"I play soccer, football, and basketball." said Caleb, who is seven.

"Thats super cool." I said. They all told me stories about their games and sports. I really missed out on a lot the past three years. I hope I never loose them again.

After Lunch, we went to the park. It brought back so many memories. We ran around in circles playing tag. Then we swung on the swing set. We also made up super weird dances and some songs. I miss being a kid. Being 17 is not all I dreamed of as a kid.

When we were going back to their home, there was a visitor. I figured he would find me eventually but not this fast. I'm lucky I realized it was his car when we started getting closer.

"Follow Me. Were gonna play a game of hide and seek." I wispered to them. "We all have to hide together."

"Okay" they all said in unison.

We must have walked at least an hour before I found a good place to stop. There was a small coffee shop, I figured that Dad would never look here. I bought them all hot chocolate with the little bit of cash that Daniel had given me. He also bought me a cell phone on his way to the hospital. I hadn't quite figured out how to work it, but I knew how to text. I text Kara and Said

Sorry were late but I saw Dads car. Did you remember to hide My stuff? and please text me when he's gone. the kids and I are all safe.

She replied a while later:

Sorry I was slow. I figured he'd find out who I was texting if I answered right away.  Yes your stuff is all safe. Stay safe. I will text you ASAP.

I convinced the kids everything would be fine, even though I knew there was no chance dad was leaving today. I needed to find us a place to stay while he was there. I really hope that she finds some excuse as to where the kids are.

"Do you guys know if any of your friends live close to here?" I knew it was a long shot since we were in the middle of Minneapolis, MN, but I knew I didn't have enough cash for a hotel, or at least not around here. I really didn't them to freeze because it was supposed to snow, again.

"Yeah. Emily lives down the road." said Anna.

"Okay. Do you want to go visit her? I'll let your mom know thats where we are."

"Yeah!" she shouted.

"Shh. You aren't supposed to be loud in here."

"Sorry."

A taller blonde guy came over to our table. He was pretty cute, but I doubt I'd ever be lucky enough to get a guy like him. I'm way to ugly and fat for him.

"Hello. I noticed you have been here a while. You look like there is someting wrong. Do you need anyting? A ride somewhere?" He said. I recognised his accent from somewhere, but I didn't know where.

"Ummm... No we're fine." I always got nervous talking to guys now. Maybe its because of my dad. I don't know, but it kinda sucked.

"You sure? I have time. Its my day off and I'd love to help you, love."

"Well, Um I can't. I don't take rides from strangers." I said as I looked into his beautiful blue eyes. They were way prettier than my dull blueish grey ones.

"Don't You mean we this time?" Now I recognised him. It was that guy I ran into on my way to that hell hole that day. The day I almost died. The day I was left alone at the hospital. The day I wished never happened.

"Uhhh. yeah I guess. We gotta go. Don't have much time." I said trying to rush the kids out. We started heading the way Emily's house was supposed to be.

"Kayla?" Anna said.

"Yeah?"

"I think that guy back there was just trying to be nice. I'm pretty sure it was Niall and he's super nice."

"Really how do you know that?"

"He is in One Direction. They are the best band ever. He loves to laugh and is super nice."

"Oh." Shit I hoped there wasn't any Paparatzi around or my dad would definatly find us. Emma was starting to get really tired, so I carried here the last few blocks.

*Knock Knock*

I heard someone shuffling to the door. It opened slowly and there was a woman there.

"Hello Girls and Caleb I missed you. Who are you Miss."

"I'm their cousin, Kayla. We were looking for somewhere to stay tonight." I said hoping she would get the hint.

"Ohhh Okay. Sure come on in."

"Thanks so much." I said trying to smile. I sent the kids off to bed after we made them all a sandwich. The lady brought me into the living room where the kids couldn't here.

"By the way I'm Hanna." She said. "So what is going on over at their house."

"Well my dad is not a good person. He guessed I would be there and he was right. Me and the kids were walking home from the little park when I saw the car, so I told them we were going to play hide and seek. We went to some coffee shop just down the road from here. I asked if they knew anyone nearby because it was getting late and Kara hadn't told me he's gone yet." I said. I only told her that much because she seemed like someone I could trust, but I didnt know how much.

"Oh ok. well you look exausted so you should head off to bed too. The guest room Is the first room on the right."

"Thank you so much. Goodnight.."

"Night." I didnt have any pjs with so I ended up sleeping in my clothes. I was to insecure to ask to borrow some or anything. Almost right when my head touched the pillow, I went into a deep sleep.
