Not So Happily Ever After (A Niall Horan Fanfic)

Chapter 12

I had almost gotten over Niall, or so I thought. He called me almost everyday after the breakup. I still havent talked to him and its been almost a month. From what I had heard they were going on break from tour soon. God, I hope they just go home. I dont want to deal with them being here it will only bring more drama. 

*ring ring*

It was Alyssa so I answered.

"Hey Kayla, what are you doing?"

"Watching movies in my pjs. Why?"

"I was wondering if you want to go on a double date with Alex and I? Please, Please, Please say yes. We could go bowling or to the movies?"

I really didnt want to date anyone right now but I didnt want to let her down. "Who would I have to go with? And When?"

"This guy from school. He's super hot. I dont think you've met him yet. Hes super nice. You'll love him."

"I guess I can go."

"YAY! I'll pick you up at seven."

"Okay. Whats his-" I was cut off by her hanging up. I looked at the time. Shit it was 6:30. 30 minutes is not enough time for me to look good enough to go out. I'll have to go with my hair down to save time. 

I ran upstairs to my room and grabbed a pink shirt and a black skirt along with some jewelry. I took a quick shower, got dressed, and dried my hair. 

*Ding Dong*

They must be here. I grabbed my phone and ran back downstairs. 

"Hey Kara, Im going to hang out with Alyssa."

"Okay. Be back by 10."

"Okay bye."

I walked to the door and started to open it while looking at the ground. There were a pair of white shoes I recognized and it wasnt anyone from my school. I looked up slowly hoping it wasnt who I thought it was. Black skinny jeans. Plain white tee shirt. I knew for sure it was him. I looked up at his face, avoiding his eyes.

"Niall."

"Kayla. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean too. I had completely forgot about her when I met you."

"Just..." I started to say as Alyssa pulled up in her car. "Save it. Dont waste your time, its not like you ever liked me anyway."

"Kayla-" He started to say as Alyssa was waving me over.

"I have to go. I have a date." I said. I looked into his eyes before walking to the car. I could tell he was hurt.

I ran to the car and hopped in the passenger seat.

"Was that him?" Alyssa asked quiet enough that only we could hear.

"Yes." I mumbled.

"Are You Okay?" She wispered.

"I don't know." I wispered.

"Hey Jacob, this is Kayla, the girl I was telling you about." She said talking to a tall brunette with striking blue eyes, not like Niall's, they were darker. He had "Bieber hair." He was kinda cute. But not as cute as Niall. "Kayla, this is Jacob, the guy I told you about on the phone."

"Its nice to meet you. You look very pretty tonight." He said.

"Nice to meet you too." I said half smiling. I turned so I was facing my house again. Niall was still standing at my door. He needs to go back home. I cant handle him here. We pulled out of the driveway and down the street.

"So where are we going tonight?" asked Jacob.

"Bowling or Movie?" Said Alyssa.

"Bowling!" Shouted Jacob and Alex. I stayed quiet.

"Okay bowling it is."

We drove to the Mall of America to go bowling, because there is a arcade and bowling alley on the top floor. We got our shoes and went to our lane. 

"Hey Alyssa. I dont know how to bowl. I never went as a kid."

"I'm no good at  it, but I'm sure Jacob can show you how to though. He's amazing at it."

"Sure, I'll show you. Come up here" he said as he walked onto the wooden floor. He grabbed me a ball off the rack and handed it to me as I steped up next to him. He walked behind me and wrapped his arms around me, showing me how to roll down the alley. It felt akward and strange having someone other than Nialls arms around me. He helped me the first few rounds and then left me on my own. I was actually pretty good, or at least compared to Alyssa.

When we finshed I was in 2nd place. We stopped at Arbys on the way back to eat. We pulled to the side of the street across from my house. There was still someone out on the front porch, but I couldnt tell who since the lights were all off.

"I'll walk you up to your door, if you want." said Jacob.

"No, its fine."

"Are you sure?" he said as I started to open my door.

"Yeah. It's not a big deal." I said getting out. "Bye. I had a lot of fun."

I heard another door opening on the other side of the car. It was Jacob. He stopped right outside his door after he shut it. I walked around to his side of the car. 

"I told you that you didnt need to walk me up there."

"I'm not going to."

"Then what are you doing?"

"This." he said leaning in. Our lips touched as he put his hand to my cheek. His lips were soft. I kissed back slowly. He was a great kisser. He broke away first.

"Goodnight." he wispered.

"Goodnight." I wispered back. I turned and walked across the street to my house. I stepped up on the porch and saw someone. I had almost forgotten someone was there. I looked up to his face. It was Niall. He never left the porch. I saw a few tears streaming down his face.
