Crippling

It's one of those pretty summer nights.

Rain fell a couple of hours ago.

But now the sky is clear, and the air is crisp and cool.

Fireflies are dancing carelessly in the dark like, happy little stars.

Everything feels just right.

Except for you.

All I want to do is say good night,

and tell you how much I love you.

But you won't listen.

You aren't even trying.

I can't even see the fireflies anymore.

They're still there, dancing.

But I'm not here, I'm off somewhere far, far away.

Somewhere cold and snowy.

I'm begging you to bring me back, and I don't even know why.

My heart is crippling, and you don't even notice.
