Hanna and Sean were lying on Sean’s bed, embracing one another. Sean held her hand, and looked at her. Hanna smiled and hugged him. “I love you, Shane Joseph Kim,” Hanna whispered. Sean looked at Hanna and replied, “I love you, Hanna Park.”
“This therapy will help you, so, shall we start?” Ian asked Sean as he asked him to change his clothes into the hospital gown. “Don’t feel nervous, relax yourself, calm your senses,” the nurse told Sean.
“Sean likes them too,” said Hanna as she smiled at Debby. “Oh, really; I thought you were the only one who liked cheesecakes. But, is he prohibited to eat it?” Debby asked Hanna as they stood at the corner of the street. “I think so,” said Hanna as she smiled. “I’ll carry it for you then,” Debby asked and took the box. They crossed the street and was walking when Hanna suddenly felt something missing. Hanna stopped walking and looked around. “My locket watch, it’s missing,” Hanna said as she looked around. “Maybe you dropped it somewhere,” Debby said as she looked to the ground.
“Sean asked me to always wear it,” Hanna said as she looked and saw it on the streets. “It’s there,” said Hanna as she went running to the streets. “Be careful,” Debby yelled as she watched her best friend run to the small street. Hanna took the locket watch and held it in her hand. Debby saw that Hanna found the locket watch; she smiled and heard a loud horn coming from a truck. Hanna stood up and was about to run back when she saw the truck coming her way.
“Watch out!” Debby shouted as Hanna was about to hit by the truck.
*hospital grounds*
Hanna was on the stretcher which was being pushed in the hallway of the hospital grounds; “What happened to her?” a male nurse asked as he joined the pushing. “She got hit by a truck,” the female nurse answered. The patient was covered in blood stains, “She sure hit her head hard, hopefully she’d be fine in the operating room,” the male nurse said as they entered the emergency room.
“Sure, I’ll see it later,” said Jenny as she smiled at Mia. Not long, Jenny’s phone rang and she answered it. “Hello? Yes, this is she, why?” Jenny asked in the phone call. Jenny dropped the phone and lost balance. Stanley was going to her when he saw her fall to the ground. Stanley ran to Jenny and asked what was wrong.
“She’s in the operating room right now. Please calm down, we’re doing our very best right now,” the nurse told Jenny and Stanley. Jenny sat down and asked herself, “What should I do? How can I be a useless sister?” Stanley hugged her and comforted her. “The patient lost a lot of blood,” the nurse told Jenny. “I’ll go,” Stanley said, “It’ll be alright,” he assured her.
Jenny stayed outside the operating room and prayed. “Jenny?” Debby called out on her when she saw her. “She dropped her locket watch and went back to get it then this truck suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The driver was brought to the police station, though,” Debby explained as she cried. Debby handed Jenny the locket watch; Jenny looked at it, with blood stains, and cried.
“Why is he still asleep?” the nurse asked Ian. “It’s normal. He’ll probably wake up later, or tomorrow,” Ian answered as they walked along the hallway. Ian saw Stanley with Jenny and Debby. “Why is he here?” Ian asked and went to Stanley. Stanley saw Ian and stood up. “What happened?” Ian asked Stanley. “What?” Ian asked as he looked at Stanley. “Sean… He can’t find out about this. He’ll surely lose himself. He’s undergoing the therapy that Hanna talked him in to, he can’t just lose focus,” Ian told Stanley. “Can we keep this from him? He’ll look for her, that’s for sure,” Stanley told Ian.
“The bleeding has stopped, and her vital signs as of now are normal, so there’s no need for you to worry. For the mean time, she’ll be under observation,” the doctor said and left the room. Jenny sat beside her sister, Hanna. She looked at her and held her hand; “Are you feeling better now? I’m sorry for not being able to protect you, to take good care of you, to be there when you needed me. I, I’m very sorry,” she said in tears.
“Mrs. Kim, you have a visitor,” Anna said as she smiled at Grace. Grace became weaker, and she remained lying on the hospital bed. Ronald looked at his ex-wife and sat beside her. He held her hand and cried. “I never planned to see you in a condition like this,” Grace told him with a weak smile. “I’m sorry Grace, for everything, I…” Ronald uttered. Grace held his hand, “It’s all in the past now. You should look forward to the future, and appreciate the present,” she told him and smiled at him.
“I’m here now papa, I will look after her. You don’t have to worry, okay?” Jenny said in a phone call. Stanley hugged Jenny, “Everything will be fine; she’ll wake up soon,” Stanley told her. Sean slowly opened his eyes and looked around. “Oh you’re awake already,” the nurse said and felt his forehead. Sean kept looking around, “You’re probably looking for someone, no one’s here. Doctor Kim came earlier to visit you, and he said you were doing fine, just don’t get tired,” the nurse said.
“How do you feel?” Ian asked Sean. “I feel light-headed,” Sean answered as he looked at Ian. “At least you can move pretty well, and seems like you can breathe well too. Good signs,” Ian said as he wrote Sean’s records. “Where’s Hanna? I didn’t see her when I woke up,” Sean asked him. Ian stopped writing and looked at Sean. “She promised that she’ll be beside me when I wake up,” he told him. “Sean,” Ian uttered. “You’re undergoing medication, I asked Hanna not to interfere,” Ian lied. “And she agreed?” Sean asked him. Ian nodded.
Jenny was sleeping; Stanley covered Jenny with a blanket. Stanley sat beside Hanna. “Hey, strong girl; wake up. You’ll upset Sean when he finds out you’re sleeping,” Stanley told Hanna when he heard a phone ringing. He saw Hanna’s phone and saw that it was Sean who was calling. Stanley took the phone and turned it off. “I’m sorry Sean,” Stanley whispered.
