Sick and tired of cliché writings?
Assassin's Creed series fan?
Here you will be able to find an ever growing collection all the way from fanfiction, opinions and theories, to rants and AC related writing in general...
Okay, I am 100% certain most of you know what this bloody chapter is about.
BUT in case you haven't noticed for any reason... Let me tell you that our dearest AC series is back - I mean... everyone has been waiting for this since "Jack the Ripper DLC" was released!
But... okay, okay... Let's take it from the start....
THE INFO
Key words? Ancient Egypt
I mean bloody damn! Come on... Every history frea- ehm... I mean lover... has had a phase of obsession over this era...
I would sell my soul for Ancient Egypt themed books and films before I even knew how to use a computer (until I discovered AC II back in the glorious 2010 and the Italian Renaissance took over, but this is a story for another time...)
But my point is: ANCIENT EGYPT
Tombs! Pyramids! Secrets!
Ok disclaimer: I am pretty sure that the game's story takes place in the Ptolemaic era, (You know, the Ptolemaic Empire... No? Maybe the name Cleopatra rings a bell? Still no clue? Anyway, you're going to learn about this sooner or later...) so I am pretty sure you should not expect to witness King Tut himself...
Some sources claim that the map will be three times bigger that Black Flag's (and I am pretty sure many of you wondered how one stupid island can take you a century to reach if you haven't unlocked the right Fast Travel point) and includes different areas.. Which in my opinion... is very positive... I loved Syndicate, I liked Unity, but only being able to visit one sole town? Nope... So it's great that the developers decided to think a little bigger! Oh and in case you got disappointed... Yes, the pyramids will be there!

Now... the protagonist... Name's Bayek... And he is a Medjay... The only remaining Medjay... So, in other words... he is THE Medjay...
You have no bloody clue what this is right? Feel no shame, dear reader... I didn't know either, so I googled it... But don't you worry, I got your back... I will explain this to you...
A Medjay is a member of an elite police force whose role has already faded in the in-game era, so Bayek (our new Assassin) is the last remaining member... Imagine a type of sheriff...
Apart from this you also have a pet eagle called Senu in your command, but I think it is for the better that you watch a playthrough or two... You will certainly see the many changes in the mechanics, the combat, even the map display...
I recommend those two:
MY THOUGHTS
First things first, let me tell you one thing... Some of my friends are also H-U-G-E fans of the series, and we always discuss any new games and characters and stories - Origins was no exception.
And the opinions differed...
Let me tell you:
1) One of them believed that Origins seems indeed a really good game, BUT it is NOT an Assassin's Creed game... He always enjoyed the realism in the games (except the whole "Piece of Eden" lore) and he was "wounded right in the heart" when he realized that in the new game, you use an eagle (!) to spot on enemies, landmarks etc. His major point was that "Assassin's Creed always was about an ancestor's genetic memories, so being able to look through the eyes of an eagle is like saying that the eagle is also an ancestor"... He always loved the series for the amount of realism the games had, and yeah... needless to say he was really disappointed...
Still, he probably forgot about the Eagle Vision... Of course the creators tried to give some in-game explanation for this ability, but it is mainly used for the player's sake, mainly in order to help him find foes, targets and interesting points of interest, just like the eagle... vision is used in Origins. So, in my humble opinion, yep, Senu is a nice and interesting new touch.
2) Another found the lack of... Assassins... bad... You see, until now, Bayek is not shown to be an Assassin, or have any relations to them... But personally, I think Origins shows the people who were the beginning of the Assassin Brotherhood, the ancestors of the Brotherhood itself... Plus, other sources actually link Bayek to the Assassins Brotherhood and the so-called "Order of the Ancients" to the Egyptian Templar Rite. So we do not have any proper negative aspects yet...
3) The third and last one complained about the fact that the whole style and mechanics of Origins differ from the rest of the series. True, the game has now some RPG aspects, you can also make some choices on your own.
I do not really see anything negative in that. I must admit, I have not so much experience in RPG games, but I started playing the Witcher series last September, and I can't wait to see how the creators of Origins fused the RPG genre into the AC series!
THE CONCLUSION
All in all, let me tell this simply: I can't wait for AC: Origins! I think the series really needed a break after Syndicate, even if I enjoyed hat game s well. I hope Origins will be a great fresh start and a thrilling experience!
Plus #1:
The game is bound to be released on my birthday (October 27th)
Plus #2:
Let us all face it... Bayek really is eyecandy...

What do you think about the new addition o the AC series?
What do you think about the setting, the time period and the protagonist?
Would you like to see Bayek in the upcoming Preferences, or should we wait until we get a better look at him and his personality?
Hope you enjoyed and see you soon!
