Sonia was the only child of Helena Johnson. Her husband was a veteran who passed away when Sonia was seven years old. Five years have gone by. Sonia was having problems with her mother drinking too much. She didn't work, she stood around the house cleaning, cooking, and her favorite thing, drinking.
Sonia didn't want to judge her mother, she took care of the important things. The bills were up to date, the house was always clean and the refrigerator was always filled. Although her mom was always drunk.
Summer had just started. Sonia found a summer job at the beach as a lifeguard. Her co-worker, Jackie, Nicky, and Richard also attending the same school she did. This was going to be their first year in Jr High.
Although her co-workers, were nice to her at work, all the years in elementary school, no one said hello to her nor was they nice.
