Monday morning, was a beautiful day. The temperature was up in the eighty's. Sonia was very happy the weather was hot. If it rains, the beach sometimes closes, depending on how hard it's raining.
She was up at six, had to be at the beach by seven. She didn't live too far from the beach. Her mother Helena was making breakfast. She drank a lot but, she was responsible. "Good morning mom, you really didn't have to wake up so early," Sonia said as she sat down to eat some pancakes. "Sweet, it's always been my job, while stop now. I do have a hangover, but after I eat, get a little more sleep, I'll be fine." replied her mother. "Mom, do you need anything from the market? I don't want you driving with a hangover," she said
"Girl, stop, I'm not a baby, besides a hangover is not the same as being drunk." she said "Yes, but if the police decided to stop you, you won't pass the breath test," she said with a smile. "You know, finish eating. I'll see you when you come back from work, We'll having a chicken tonight." said her mother as she walked away she muttered, "Teenager are so convinced they know it all. But they don't." then she picked up here coffee and pancakes and jetted to her bedroom.
"See you later mom," said Sonia as she finished her breakfast, and then headed out the door. She grabbed her bike then went on her way. "Boy, I hope she listens. I don't want to pick her up at the police station." she thought to herself as she arrives at the beach and pushes her time card, then she grabbed her whistle and life jacket and heading to her post.
Now her dear old mother, she was a little bit hard headed. She finished her food, took a shower. She went to take out the chicken for it to defrost. When she opened the refrigerator freezer and noticed she had no chicken for dinner. "Oh, hell no! When did I use the last whole chicken," she muttered as she searches the freezer moving the other things and checking underneath. "Oh, well, I sure glad I didn't promise Sonia anything. Now, where did I put those car keys?" she muttered as she looked around.
At first, she was having trouble finding them, then she remembers where her daughter hides her jewelry and money, under the pillow. She quickly grabbed the keys and her purse then out the door she went.
She turned on the CD players and began to sing as she headed to the market. "We are family, I go all my sister's with me. We are a family get up everybody and sing...." she continued to sing as he parks into the market parking lot.
Helena grabbed her purse, got out the car and lock the door behind her. She picked up everything she needs for dinner. She then paid and walked out. She pushed her shopping car towards her car and placed her groceries into the trunk. She then locked it and headed to the Liquid store that was across the street. She picked up two bottles of wine, then headed back to her car, with the biggest happiest smile you ever saw.
"Shit yes, now I can get my groove on while I'm cooking," she said as she opened her car and went on her way. Again she blasted the music and sang as she drove.
Suddenly she heard a police siren. "Hell knows, this can't be happy," she said as she pulled over to the side. Then through the view mirror, she saw a strange man was running down the road, towards her direction. The man ran in her car. She noticed he threw something in her direction as he ran by. "Helena following the object with her eyes, but her hangover prevented her from seeing clearly.
When she saw the patrol car passed right by her, "How cool is that I wasn't being stopped after all." she said as she continued on her way. Helena finally arrived home. She took out the bags and headed to the kitchen to started dinner. She knew that Sonia away got home hungry, working or not. The skinny thing can eat a whole chicken by herself.
