Next morning you felt the sunrays go through the sheets as the loveliest scent filled the room. You felt slight more exhausted than the usual due to yesterday's events. You were sort of lost. You weren't expecting to live another day. You rose up as you looked around the room. You got dressed into your school uniform, got your bag, and headed downstairs towards the kitchen. Funny. Where's your mom? She'd usually call you for breakfast. But the air had not a stray of a morning meal. In the kitchen counter you spot a post it note. Ofcourse. A note. Your parents had to go out, an emergency? You wonder what happened that they decided to leave you alone. You were going to school anyway. You made yourseld your breakfast. Something light yet enough for the day. Once finished you headed out on your route to school. While walking on the side walk you heard footsteps catch your attention behind you. You looked back. You spot a male with dark-purple hair and a tracksuit walking slightly farther from you. Wait. Yato? He slightly shriek as you two made eye contact, his face bashed in red.

Y/N: Yato?

Yato: Y/N! Its not what it looks like! I can expla-!

Y/N: Come over here. You can walk with me if you'd like.

He slightly blushed as he came next to you with his hands on his pockets making a poker face. How silly. You find it adorable.

Y/N: Good morning by the way. How's Yukine?

Yato: Oh. He's doing good I guess you could say. He's excited to hang out with you today. Cant blame him I kinda am too... Where will we be going?

Y/N: Anywhere you'd like. Just not anything too time consuming. I have school tomorrow and I might get some school work.

Yato: How about you come at our place?

Y/N: Your place?

Yato: Yeah, I'll take you there! I have some acquaintances I want you to meet.

Y/N: Oh okay.

He then gave you a thumbs up as he stuck his tounge out with a smile.

Yato: And while you're there, you can do your homework!~

You giggled at his expression. He's so silly, very different from a few years back when you met him. You liked it though. His cheery rays washed over you. His happiness was contagious.

Y/N: Thank you for the offer.

Yato: I'll wait for you afterschool.~

Y/N: Oh wait you dont know where I go. I'll give you directions.

Yato: No need! We are walking there right now.

Y/N: Huh? Wait but dont you have anything to do in the morning?

Yato: No not really. I want to see your school anyways.~

Y/N: Its not as exciting but if you say so.

Yato: You know... You should be more greatful...

Y/N: I know... I really have no excuse... I'll try to make this year the best of it...

Yato: You can pray to me for success! Just five yen!

Y/N: Oh sure! Thats wonderful! Just a moment!

Yato: Wait what. Your-?

You took out your wallet. It had your f/c and a cute design you found. You took a five yen coin and held it to your hand as you put your hands together for a prayer.

Y/N: I hope this year, I can have good memories with you and Yukine. I will cherish every minute.

As you went back to the side to give Yato the coin. He had this expression. Like he was... Oh my god! You gor closer to Yato, worried. Was it something you said?

Y/N: Y-Yato? Im so sorry... Was it something I said?

Yato: Huh? Oh no not at all! Your wish was cute is all...~ Wait! Agh!

You giggled as you pat his shoulder. You then gave him the yen coin with a smile on your face. You had already reached the front of the school gates. He looked up at it as he scanned it. He had a serious expression.

Yato: Its swarming with phantoms...

Y/N: Phantoms?

Yato: Anyway. I'll see you afterschool with Yukine.

Y/N: O-Okay. By the way... What are phantoms?

Yato: I'll expain to you when we meet. I'll see you later. Okay?

Y/N: Y-Yeah. Goodbye!

Yato: See ya later Y/N! ~

You smiled at the sound of his voice meddled with your name. It just felt like clouds would clear up and you felt higher up in a fantasy. You waved goodbye and returned to the front gate as you went inside. You were nervous to have to go through another day. Yet despite that you smiled. You knew the end of the day brought excitement, something new to you. Something good. You reach the lockers as you pick up books ready to go to homeroom.

" Its that girl again..."
" Ugh she's still here? What a shame..."
" I hope she would've transferred... Guess not..."

You clenched to yourself, shielding yourself from their comments. You cannot let them get to you. You started to think about Yato and Yukine. They made you so joyed. Just seeing them made you flutter with excitement. Now that you thought about it... You had friends now. You cant help but smile. Friends. Such a lovely word. You headed to your desk as you sat down. You began to wonder. Whats a phantom? What will Yato tell you... and his acquaintances. Who are they? Despite you pondering on the subjects you remained without worry. He told you you'd be told, so a bit of patience wont be bad. Classes commenced as you focused, ignoring the corrupt comments around you. You will make the best of the year. You wished on it but you are also determined to put in some effort. After all... God's are like us, they need their own time. They arent our wish slaves either. For a wish to come true you must also contribute to the wish. You heard an odd comment. It wasnt a student nor a teachers voice.
