Eacker awoke to a warm mass pressed into his back.

He tried to move, but the mass had arms and legs that were wrapped tightly around him.

"Get off of me, Hamilton." Eacker grumbled, prying the arms and legs off of him. Hamilton murmured some gibberish and rolled over.

Eacker rolled his eyes and went downstairs to make himself breakfast.

It was indeed cold downstairs, since Eacker only paid for heating on the upper floor. He momentarily felt sorry for making Hamilton sleep down there, but quickly turned his thoughts to breakfast.

He heated the simple stove he had as he fished some eggs and slices of bacon out of his small fridge. He cracked a couple eggs and set some slices of bacon down on a large pan on the stove, an then as an afterthought, added some more bacon and eggs for Hamilton.

'Speak of the devil.' Eacker thought as Hamilton stumbled down the stairs, one of Eacker's blankets wrapped around his shoulders.

"Good mornin'." Hamilton mumbled, sitting down at the kitchen table "what're you makin'?"

"Eggs and bacon." Eacker replied "I think there's milk in the fridge if you want any."

"I have a confession to make." Hamilton said as he poured himself a glass of milk.

Eacker raised an eyebrow, but said nothing.

"You know how I said that I was locked out and couldn't ring the doorbell at my house, and that's why I had to spend the night here? That's not actually true. Lafayette actually locked me out and said that you and I had to "make amends"."

"And I'm guessing he gave you my address, and that's why you're here?" Eacker asked, setting two plates of food down on the table.

Hamilton nodded.

"That sounds like something he would do." Eacker said, smiling a bit as he sat down and began to eat his breakfast.

"Are we actually going to try to make amends?" Hamilton asked after a little while "For Lafayette?"

Eacker shrugged.

"Or we could become the best of friends, since that's not at all what he's expecting." Hamilton added.

Eacker smiled. "Let's start with just making amends."

"For Lafayette?" Hamilton asked, sticking his hand out.

"For Lafayette." Eacker agreed, shaking Hamilton's hand and confirming the agreement.
