As I promised, this is an epilogue-ish. I wanted to write an Epilogue, but I thought the ending was pretty clear, the in between wasn't.

So here is a full fleshed chapter only on Vander where all his affection and dilemmas are portrayed.

I hope it makes you guys happy and more in love with Vander.

Enjoy!

The mornings were, as usual, dull.

The sky was covered with dark clouds just like his mood.

It has been a year, but Vander still couldn't get over the fact that he wouldn't see her anymore.

For past 3 years, Vander had one routine. Just one. And he wouldn't change it for the world.

It was by accident when he started it. He didn't know it at that time, but when he started observing everything, Vander knew this was what he wanted to do every day.

Vander didn't want to take his car to work initially. He had the money, but he wasn't a show off. He used to take the subway like everyone.

One day as the doors of the train were almost closing, he saw something. A girl, of almost 20, running to get on the train. She made it just as the doors closed. She laughed at her little achievement as others thought of her as crazy. Vander couldn't help but smile at her. Her happy eyes were something that lured him towards her. She didn't put on her earphones like everyone else. Instead, she took out a book from her handbag, 'Inferno' by Dan Brown. She didn't realize it was the next station already and the passengers rushed in pushing her as she stumbled. Vander knew he couldn't be seen so, he came in between her and the crowd. His back was towards her. Vander's arm blocked the entire crowd protecting her while she continued reading in a corner, unaware. He stood there until she got off at the station before his.

Vander smiled the whole day.

He had just joined Instyle. In, a new lifestyle magazine. New York was different than his Aunt's place in San Francisco. He was not so British. He lived in the USA since he was a teenager, just the accent remained. Vander had a knack for writing and presenting things. His sister encouraged him to work for a magazine rather than the Investment Banking firm he was working for. Vanessa said it was a waste of his talent. Though the job gave him money, it wasn't what made him happy.

Now as he stood in his kitchen, it made Vander sigh. His home didn't look like home anymore. It was just a place where he ate and slept. Vanessa had gone to a school trip and took Allie with her. It was only him and Winnie.

"Winnie," He whistled and the 1 year 3-month-old beagle puppy came to the kitchen running.

"Where have you been?" He asked her, but the dog just wagged her tail in happiness. Vander bent down and petted her head and stroked her neck and ear. She loved that. "Breakfast?" He asked and Winnie took her tongue out and wagged her tail and Vander laughed.

He poured himself some milk and made himself some egg and tuna sandwiches. They were actually scrumptious despite their appearance. Vander took Winnie's bowl and poured her milk as well and took everything to the living room. He kept her bowl in front of Winnie as she happily drank her milk while Vander switched on his laptop and logged into his email. He smiled when his personal inbox had a mail. He clicked it open and read its contents.
