Should go on a hike!

I happily chuckled to myself for no reason as I packed my back pack. I was planing on going for a nice long hike up on the infamous Mt. Ebott. They say that no one comes back from going into the mountain. But you know that's not true. After all you and a few other friends have gone into it a few other times already and your all still fine.

But you could never be to carful. So along with some water bottles and trail mix I tossed in a first aid kit. I paused as I thought. It HAS been raining rather hard the past few days so I decided to toss in a Chang of extra cloths in cause I slip and fall and get all muddy. Let's stop and be honest here, this is me were talking about of corse I'm going to slip and fall.

Besides that I would want a extra pair to change into after the hike. I'm sure I will be sweaty and smelly at the end and will want something clean to be in as soon as possible. On that thought might as well pack some tennie shoes so I don't have to wear the stiff and soon to be muddy hiking boots. I paused as I thought of what els to pack. Might as well pack your pride and joy. Your machete. It was a black bladed machete but it did not look like your standard machete. Instead it was thinner and had a notch at the base by the handle. (To lazy to really describe it so here's a pic)

(Look up carving machetes for more)

I knew how to use it and used it rather well (for those who don't know what machetes are used for there mostly used for wood chopping, carving and clearing brush not really for combat but may end up being later on depending on what I have planed). It was a amazing tool and I made sure to take care of it. Besides it made me feel bad ass using it.

Althow there was not any real chance I would need to use it up on Mt.Ebott...oh well better to be safe then sorry. Who knows I might end up getting lost and having to spend the night in the mountains. I chuckled a bit at my excuse and packed the blade.

Once I was sure I would not need anything els I packed my backpack into my car and drove to a park that was near Mt.Ebott. I parked the car in the parking area and got out and slung my backpack onto my back. My black jacket making it a bit hard for the bag to fit on. That is until I loosened the straps a bit.

After that was taken care of I began my hike to Mt.Ebott. It did not take long, no more then 10 minutes of walking and I was already there. I paused to look at the mountain sizing it up and trying to decided how far up I should go. My friends and I usually only went half-way up. But I'm going to try and make it to the top or near the top today. I began to walk around the base of the mountain till I found a slightly worn down path and began to follow it. The path took me a bit up the mountain till it began to slowly disappear. After a while there was no more path. 'Hum...must be about half way up now.' I thought to myself before I stopped and took off my back pack.

Deciding to take a small brake there I sat down on a dry spot of ground and took off my jacket it was now warm enough without it and with me hiking my body's temperature was already up. When I took the black jacket off my f/c shirt could then be seen. I took out a bottle of water and a pack of trail mix along with the machete. I quickly packed my jacket away and slid the machetes cover onto my belt so I did not have to carry it and it would be easy to grab. Once that was taken care of I stood up and began to walk once more with the trail mix and water bottle in hand.

I picked my way threw the underbrush and trees doing my best to pick the safer areas to walk. I continue on like this for a while, using the machete to clear a path when needed. After a few hours of walking I noticed the sky getting darker. I looked up and noticed some clouds gathering in the sky. I frowned when I noticed there gray color and how they looked like they were ready to rain. I mentally cursed the weather station I had listened to yesterday who had said we would get a brake from the rain all day today. I paused to take a deep breath in to think before I continued to walk looking for a good place to wait out the rain. After a bit I spotted a cave and headed over to it just as the clouds began to let loss the water they were carrying.

I sighed as I looked down at my phone. Looks like I have been walking got about 7 hours now...ill try and wait out the rain before I head back down, I should be somewhere near the top after all. But as I wait I might as well explore the cave, there were hardly any predators in the area but it was best to check to make sure none had come into the cave with me right?

I packed the now empty water bottle and trail mix wrapper away and put my phone onto the flashlight thingy before I headed deeper into the cave. Not to far into the cave I noticed a hole in the floor. I frowned and edged closer to it before shining the light down into it trying to the hole trying to see how far down it goes. As I did the ground gave out under me sending me down into the hole.
