It was the last day of school before summer vacation. Students rushed to their homeroom hoping that the day would pass quickly. Hina was making her way through the halls when she was suddenly pushed by a group of guys."Get out of our way loser" Shouted the tallest guy. Hina's notebooks had scattered all over the floor. She heard the bell for homeroom ring and sighed. She started picking up her books when she noticed another girl helping her. The other girl handed Hina her purple notebook.
"Thank you," Hina said while offering the other girl a smile. She thought the girl looked familiar and it suddenly hit her.
"You're in my homeroom, right?" She asked. The other girl simply nodded before starting to walk off. Hina caught up to her easily and began walking with her.
"My name's Hina. What's your name?" She curiously asked the girl.
"Karin." Hina nodded to acknowledge she heard the girl's response. An awkward silence was suddenly present between the two girls. They approached the classroom and Karin walked in first. The attention of all of the students and the teacher was brought to the door.
"Would you girls like to tell me why you're late on the last day of school?" Their teacher asked them. Hina waited to see if Karin was going to respond but her eyes didn't even leave the floor.
"I dropped my notebooks in the hallway and Karin helped me pick them up," Hina said in an attempt to keep herself and Karin from getting in trouble on their final day in this prison. Their teacher looked at them before focusing back to the class.
"Since it's the last day and you've never been late I will let this slide." Their teacher said. Hina and Karin bowed slightly while muttering thanks and made their way to their seats.
Hina saw Karin walking home after the school day ended. She ran to catch up with the slightly shorter girl.
"Karin!" Hina shouted as she got closer. Karin turned around and her eyes widened slightly.
"What's up?" Karin asked when Hina reached her side.
"Nothing. I just saw you walking alone so I was wondering if you wanted to hang out." Hina said
"Hmm well, I guess that could be fun. I don't have any plans." Karin replied as they started walking again.
"Where should we go?" Hina asked. Karin looked at the sky in thought before answering.
"We could go get ice cream," Karin suggested. Hina's eyes lit up at the thought of ice cream.
"Yea! Let's do it!" Hina said excitedly. She then grabbed Karin's hand and started running. Karin laughed as Hina pulled her along for a run to the ice cream shop.
