I stepped off the train with my bags. I looked around excitedly, taking in the view. Wow. Suddenly, there was a red blur. A fully grown man stood in front of the gathering group of students. He pulled off his hood, and I gasped. Everything swirled and went dark. Kai.

I got up and groaned. What happened? I wondered. A few students stood around me, and I shooed them away so I could have some space. Kai walked over to me and held out a hand. He pulled me up with a small grunt.
"Are you ok?" He asked. I nodded, feeling a bit light headed. I stumbled, so Kai caught my arm again. "No falling again, ok?" He cleared his throat. "Hello, my new students, and welcome to your home and school. I'm the red fire ninja, Kai. I work with the other ninja, Cole, Jay, Zayne, and Lloyd, and my sister, Nya. Plus, my old master, Wu, is the principal. Allow us to bring you to your rooms."
I wondered, Us? But I see only Kai... There was a rustling of leaves.
"Shelby, I'm right here!" I whipped around. Zayne, wearing his mask and suit, was hiding in a bush.
"Wha...?"
"Shelby, why are you confused? I am a nindroid, and my new functions will allow me to read your mind, granted, it is blurry and I can only see what you are currently thinking. For example, Shelby, you are thinking about your poor life back at home, how you will make it through our school, how you have no father, and you are wondering what he would say about you getting to be here..." I blushed and looked down. I didn't exactly want one of my heroes babbling on about me. Everyone around me stared. Zayne quickly realized his mistake with... Well, everything he said. He sagged his shoulder slightly, saying, "I am sorry, Shelby, please forgive me." How could I be mad? He was so innocent! I smiled.
"Of course," I replied. He straightened up again.
"Girls," Kai spoke up. "Follow me to your dorms. Boys, go with Zayne to your rooms." I forgot all about Zayne's words when I started carrying my bags behind Kai. I saw a large field with Lloyd setting up different types of targets. Jay was on the roof, a glider strapped to his back.
And this is just the beginning.
