Daryl's POV:

Beth pulls herself together much faster then I imagined. We sit there on the side of the rode after Fae leaves for only two minutes at the very most when she stands up and says,

" Walkers. "

She grabs my hand and helps me up. I look behind me and see what looks like hundreds of them. How was she being so calm when I, Daryl Dixon, was terrified. I don't show that I'm scared and tell her to run to the safest place I can see, a camper about a 100 yards away.

We both make it inside but have problems getting the door shut because the stupid things are pulling it open. I have to think fast but I don't know what to do. I hear Beth say to hold the door, then I see her let go, grab her knife and start stabbing them in their nasty, damaged heads.

Blood is EVERYWHERE.

Beth's POV:

All I'm thinking is prove Fae wrong, you're not puny or good for nothing. Prove Daryl right, you are tough. And as much I want to lay down and cry I'm too determined to show my strength.

I'm starting to lose my energy seeing as I've already knocked out 45-50 of them pretty much on my own. The only thing I'm worrying about now is to make myself keep going.

" Never give up" Daddy used to say.

I feel my muscles in my arm burning. Sweat, tears, and walker blood covers me. Daryl is now helping me kill them while pulling on the door with one hand. It takes us about 20 minutes to kill them enough to close the door. once the door is shut, the walkers start to beat on the window.

Daryl hops over to the drivers seat and starts to hot wire the camper.

He's taking too long. The glass is starting to crack. As soon as the camper starts up the walkers break through the window, sending me jumping back into the middle of the front seats. I scream at Daryl to,

" GO!"

He steps on the gas only to hit the breaks a few feet after cause of the giant herd coming towards us from the front.

He sets it in reverse and sends the camper flying backwards. He does a sharp U-turn and we drive as fast and far away as possible.

" Any bites? Scratches?" Daryl asks me.

I look myself over in a matter of seconds and say,

" No, You?"

He just looks at me and answers,

" Me? No, I barely got close to them cause you had it handled ."

He stops for a second and then continues,

" I'm proud of you Beth, you've really grown up."

I just let out a sigh and murmur a,

"Thanks...."

There's a moment of silence until Daryl asks me,

" are you okay?"

" Yeah, I'm fine."

I guess he notices that I'm not really fine cause then he holds my hand and says,

" You're becoming a bad ass Beth, your nothing like what fae said okay?"

I nod and then say sarcastically,

" Next time do you think you'd wanna help with the killing a little, Mr. Scaredy cat!"

Daryl laughs and squeezes my hand that he's still holding, when I feel something I haven't felt since Jimmy. Butterflies. As in, I think I like Daryl Dixon butterflies.
