Phasing Heart

We Set Out!

     Couple hours later when I wake up again, I get dressed in my usual wear. Baggy pants and a tight long-sleeved shirt. To add a little spice, I put on a black beanie that had the word 'RedFurt' encrypted in white on it. I bought it customized to fit in with the game TomoDachi Life. I go downstairs to get breakfast, or so I thought, with a little skip to my step.

     When I enter the dinning room I see Nathan there eating something fancy looking while reading a newspaper. Really? With so much money and such at his disposal, he chooses to read the paper? He is very classic from the way he acts and talks, but that's what I like about him.

     Seeing me enter with a smile on my face, Nathan asks, "What's got you in such a good mood?" I notice he says this with a straight face, but I could hear the slight bit of chuckling laced in his words.

     "Cause you promised to go shop with me today. Adventure!"

     "Didn't you used to do that before?"

     "Nope." I say popping the 'p'. "Ivan always had to do the shopping because anytime we went out in public, other villains would try to make me their sidekick, or creeps would harass me. Sometimes guys from old territory fight, back when I was homeless, they'd remember me and pick a fight. After a while, Ivan got fed up with me coming home with bruises or scratches or scars or whatever and he made it a rule that I couldn't leave without him or at least one of my other friends that could protect me."

     Nathan seemed to sport a shocked look on his face. I can't tell if it's because of why I can't be alone in public or if it's because I brought up Ivan and didn't have an emotional breakdown. No matter how much I think about Ivan right now, I will not let it bring down the great day that's to come.

     "Well, I'll make sure that no one does that to you."

     "Oh, I wasn't worried!"

     "You weren't worried about possibly being raped while we were out today?" He sounded so confused, it's honestly hilarious. Then his facial expression killed me. It was a mix of disgust, worry, ghastly-ness, and I think he was slowly turning green.

     "Of course not! As soon as people would see me with you, they'd run like hell. I know for  sure, no villains what-so-ever want to deal with you." I cuff my hands together and shimmy by body a little with a pleased look on my face. Nathan though looks so relieved that that is the reason as to why I'm not concerned about going out.

     "I see now. When you're done eating, we'll go."

     "Fuck Eating! Let's go!" I go over to his seat and start tugging on his arm. This gets him to laugh at my childish behavior. In his eyes, I must remind him of a spoiled three year old ready to leave for a birthday party or something of the sense.

     "Alright. Alright. At least let me finish eating and then we'll go." I agree with him, but the pout is still visible. So I sat and wait for him to be done.

     After an intense seven minutes and forty-two seconds, yes I kept the time, of me staring at his food, Nathan was finally done. As he stood up, I was sitting across for him bouncing in my seat eagerly. He was about to talk to is men really quick, but I stood up, phased through the table and grabbed his suit jacket. I yanked him all the way out the front door and ran to his awaiting limo to go on our adventure to the store.
