CHECK OUT MY NEW STORY "MY LAST BREATH" !!?

Nicole's POV

'Ring Ring'

I groaned, rolling over, searching around the bed with half-open eyes. Vibrations tickled my inner thigh, as I reached for my phone, quickly shielding my sensitive eyes from the harsh light.

"Hello?" I answered in a hushed voice, not bothering to check the caller ID.

"Hello? is this Nicole Riversten?" an unfamiliar woman spoke. My eyebrows furrowed, "Yes, and this is?" I asked, rubbing my temples.

"I'm a nurse from Saint Charles Hospital, you're mother has been sent to us, she's experimenting critical heart aches. You might want to come now. . . before it's too late, dear."

"W-What?" I choked on my own breath. Everything around me spinning, my head pounding along with my rapid thumping heart. The phone slipped through my fingers, plopping down on the pillow.

It's time.

I instantly gripped the phone, lifting it back up to my ear. "Your kidding.. right?" the lady sighed, "Sadly, I'm not. You're father requested I call you immediately." a choked sob was heard from me. I nodded, knowing she obviously can't see me. "O-Okay." I hung up.

Yet again, my phone slipped through my fingers. Raising my hands up, stuffing my face into them. "NO!" an unexpected scream escaped my chapped lips. My breath hitched in my throat as I desperately tried to remaine calm.

My mothers dying. The day I have been fearing and avoiding has finally caught up to me.

The unexplainable ache in my heart caused me to scream louder.

All of a sudden Niall came rushing through the door, in nothing but boxers. He searched my face, his instantly softening. "Bad dream?" he asked unsure.

"My mothers dying." I explained bluntly. Continues tears forming in my eyes, sliding down my wet cheeks.

His eyes instantly widening, "Oh my.." he whispered, rushing over to me. Bringing me close to his bare chest. I loosened into him, relaxing under his broad shoulders. "She's dying Niall." I sobbed into his neck, squeezing him closer.

"I'm so sorry." he whispered, "What hospital?"

"S-Saint Charles."

"Let's go." he shot up, taking me with him. I looked down at my sweats and baggy T-shirt. "It's fine, we need to leave now. Times not on our side." I nodded, wiping under my eyes.

Soon enough we were huddled into his car, speeding down the dark road. I gripped the side in fear, "Niall please slow down." my voice cracked. He looked over to me, a look of guilt washed over him. "I'm sorry."

I've been in a accident once, and it wasn't pretty.

I just wanted- needed, to get to her. I needed to tell her I loved her, and I'm sorry I let Harry take over so much of my time. That I should have been by her side, because stupid me, was all wrapped up in the boy I thought loved me. I couldn't even realize my own mother was hurting.

Before I even realized it, I was full on crying, stuffing my face in my hands in embarrassment, an action I've become accustomed to.

"Shhh, shhh, it's going to be alright. We're going to make it to her." Niall's voiced rang through my ears.

I frowned, "I don't think so, Niall. What if I don't make it there in time?" I shook hysterically at the thought. He sighed, "Stop doubting yourself! we will." after that, a word wasn't dared to be spoken. Faint sniffles and hard breaths filled the car until we finally arrived to the packed parking lot of the Hospital. "Shit." Niall cursed beside me.
