"Hey, you! Go check on the cargo." Petrel told one of his grunts.

"Yes, Sir!" The grunt complied and quickly left the cockpit of the carrier helicopter.

"Aaaah, a job well done." The Team Rocket executive reclined in his seat.

The helicopter was flying back towards the Team Rocket HQ with several strong Pokemon captured and held inside. Or so the purple-haired man thought.

"Incoming transmission from the Boss." The pilot said, pressing a button that turned on the large screen next to the main console. Petrel sat up straight, seeing his boss staring straight at him.

"Boss!" He patted himself down.

"Petrel." The man on the other end was sat at a desk, his hands clasped together. "I trust you succeeded?"

"Of course, Sir." Petrel nodded happily. "We got that kid's Pokemon. Plus, some other twerps tried to interfere, and we took theirs as well!"

"Hm. Impressive." The boss seemed to ease up.

"It was quite simple really." Petrel went on. "Heck, those dumb brats barely even put up a fight when-"

At that moment, the door burst open and the grunt came in, looking troubled. "Sir, they're gone!" He stammered.

"What?!"

"The Pokemon are gone!" The grunt repeated. "All of them! Completely disappeared!"

"Petrel!" The boss growled, overhearing the conversation.

"I-it's nothing, Sir!" The executive straightened up. "Just a... A hitch, that's all!"

"You had better turn around this instant and get those Pokemon! I will not tolerate you coming back empty-handed! Do you understand?"

"Y-yes Sir!" Petrel saluted, before turning to the pilot. "You heard him! Turn around! And cut the transmission – cut it!"

The pilot tugged on the stick and the large helicopter hooked a sharp turn, causing the grunts inside to tumble around in its belly.

There was an almighty crackle as a bright light tore across the sky, and a wormhole appeared to open up out of nowhere, before fading out of existence just as fast.

"The Hell was that?!" The pilot gasped.

"Forget about that crap!" Petrel snapped, working up a sweat. "We have orders to follow, dammit! Gah, that Proton won't let me live this down at this rate..."

The vehicle began flying back towards Alola, with the skies roaring out despite there not being a single cloud.

"Tch..." The Team Rocket Boss sat back in his wheelchair. "Imbecile..."

"I hope for your sake that your plan succeeds..." An ominous, formless voice emanated from somewhere in the room that couldn't be pinpointed.

"Hmph... I would prefer it if you showed yourself instead of hiding in the shadows." The boss looked around.

"Is that what you think I'm doing, Giovanni?" The voice chuckled. "You think I'm hiding in the shadows? No, not quite. I am right beside you, yet worlds away at the same time..."

"Enough of this nonsense." Giovanni frowned. "I have put the plan in motion. If you wish to negotiate, show yourself."

"Oh, there is no need to negotiate, my short-tempered friend." The formless voice said. "The terms are as I told you before. You do remember them, yes?"
