"Here you go, little guy." Nelly carefully put Eevee on the ground in Altru Park. The young Pokemon saw his parents waiting for him eagerly up ahead. They were relieved that their baby was safe, having lost sight of him in the storm the previous day. Nelly's decision to shelter the child might just have saved his life, and the family were grateful.
"Eevui..." The little one looked up at us.
"Be careful from now on." Nelly smiled.
The Pokemon nodded.
"Feo!" The father, Leafeon, stepped forward. He had a small golden bell on a red ribbon dangling from his mouth.
"Is that a Soothe Bell?" I looked at the item.
"Arf!" Leafeon nodded and held it up to Nelly in thanks.
"Thank you." She graciously accepted the gift, and with that, the family went off to play in the park.
"How nice of them." Alicia smiled.
"Yeah." Nelly pocketed the bell. "Now then, are we going to check on Alfred?"
"Yep." I looked back at the town and towards the hospital. "I hope he's doing ok."

Alfred's wounds were not too severe after all. His shoulder was bandaged up after the glass shard had been removed, and he had a couple of plasters scattered across his chest, as well as one beneath his eye. He looked tired, but defiant all the same.
"Have you spoken to Megan?" I asked after we had come in and greeted him.
"Yeah." He sighed. "Sorry, but it looks like my mission's over from this point onward. I've been ordered to stay here and rest."
"Don't worry." Nelly smiled. "We can handle it from here."
"I hope you're right, Girlie..." He looked out of the window. "Something's not right out there, you know..."
"What do you mean?" I wondered.
"You saw those flashes in the sky above Alola, right?"
I thought back to when rifts had appeared in the air out of nowhere, before vanishing after only a few seconds.
"Yeah... Is that normal in Alola?" I looked to Alicia.
"Hm... I believe so...? I rarely saw them when I was in the castle, but I did hear them frequently." She nodded.
"They're a fairly recent occurrence." Alfred shifted.
"You know about them?" Nelly asked.
"Well, as much as there is to know right now." He replied. "Our division shares info with the International Police. They've been investigating these 'Ultra Wormholes'. Supposedly, Pokemon from another dimension bust their way through time and space. They call 'em 'Ultra Beasts'.
"Dimension-hopping Pokemon?" Nelly blinked.
"Well, that's different – not really out of the ordinary though." I said. "When you consider all the stuff we've been through, that is."
"Pokemon from other dimensions aren't what worries me." Alfred sighed. "It's those other dimensions themselves... Some of those creatures are documented as being highly dangerous... I know this may sound out there, but what if they were breaking through time and space for a reason? Reports suggest that the creatures cross the boundary absent-mindedly, but... There must be a reason for it."
"Well, the idea of portals to other dimensions opening up spontaneously isn't exactly a comforting one..." Nelly admitted.
I looked out the window and watched my Pokemon as they trained on their own. My Litten and Hawlucha were practicing the Fire Trap that Acerola had told us about, but it didn't seem to be going well. Taiga breathed fire into the hole he had created and Hawlucha braced himself, but nothing happened. There wasn't enough power behind Taiga's attack to break through the surface. He ran out of breath and panted. Hawlucha lowered his arms and sighed. Meanwhile, Nectaria the Bounsweet sat watching them, confused as to why nothing was happening. Trixie and Minerva sat with her, watching the boys fail at every attempt. The sky above them was clear, without a cloud to be seen.
