Chapter eighteen

*Dante's P.O.V.*
"Where is she? Where is my baby? Richard!"
I snapped my head towards the entrance of the hospital waiting room and was met by the sight of a worried couple making their way towards us. The heavily accented voice belonged to the woman who's hazel eyes were strikingly familiar.
"Good morning, Mr and Mrs. Graham," Richard started before proceeding to explain Thalia's condition. I took the time to observe her parents, suddenly nervous about meeting them. Thalia most definitely took after her mother, from the eyes to the height to the curviness. They had the same jaw structure and everything. I could also see the slight resemblance with her father as well, she had his full lips and poker face.
When Richard finished, her mother broke down in tears and hugged him tightly. Richard immediately hugged her back and murmured soothing words in her ear. Her dad looked relieved that she was doing well and proceeded pat Richard on the shoulder.
"Thank you God," she sniffled as she pulled away and wiped her face. Even with the red rimmed eyes, she was a natural beauty. She turned to Joseph, who'd just woken up.
"Kokaliáris ántras, come give me a hug!" She demanded. It was quite amusing to see Joseph's tall lanky figure stumble over to her short one and engulf her in a hug.
"Good to see you, mama Graham. I see the name 'skinny man' has stuck," he smiled as she let him go to have a look at him.
"You need to eat more! You're going to wither away," she scolded him, slapping his arm. She then turned to me, "See this one? He is a dynatos ántras."
I blushed, not knowing what the hell she'd just said but assuming it meant something antonymous to skinny.
"Matter of fact, I bet this is the one she took a bullet for, correct?"
I nodded.
"Come here, let me hug you." I hesitantly stepped over to her and wrapped my arms around her small frame.
"Thank you for going in there to save her. You must be something special if she took a bullet for you," she whispered.
"I'd do it all again if I had to," I said honestly.
She pulled back and looked me over with a warm smile. "Honey, I want you to meet this young man. What's your name, gamprós?" Her husband, who was joking with Richard, walked over to me at his wife's command.
"Dante Adorno, it is a pleasure to meet the both of you," I said politely, shaking Mr. Graham's hand firmly.
"And just look at how polite he is! Thalia did an excellent job choosing this one!" Her mom gushed excitedly. Mr. Graham shook his head at his wife's antics.
"You're scaring him, Sofia," he laughed, noticing my slight embarrassment. "You can call me John, Dante."
I was about to respond when the last voice I'd expected to hear rang through the air.
"Dante Giovanni Adorno!"
I snapped my head towards the waiting room entrance for the second time that day to find my mother and father walking hurriedly in my direction.
