Drake had just explained to his mother the exact reason why he was troubled last night. He sat at the small kitchen island in their house as his mom cooked him food at the stove. He just told her about how I had watched and allowed her to be bullied for so long and as she walked past him to the fridge she hit him on the back of the head.

"Ow" he said while rubbing it.

"I did not raise you to treat a woman like that or be a bystander to it, let alone the fact it's been going on for what? 4 YEARS! What were you thinking? Look I have absolutely no sympathy for your situation. You put this on yourself. I am even more disappointed that you only recognised that what you were doing was wrong when you saw the real her. You shouldn't have allowed that to happen whether you or everyone thought she was fat or thin, cool or geeky. You will be lucky to even get a glance from her that is not filled with hatred."

He rested his elbows on the counter and put his head in his hands as he let out a long sigh.

He knew his mother was right. He had treated her like a piece of dog shit for so long now. He would always either not acknowledge her, probably making her feel belittled and less superior to him, or allow the teasing to happen.

"I know your right and I feel like shit about it," He started.

"Language please."

"Sorry but mom I need advice on how to at least get her to not hate me cause I don't know where to start."

"Well the best advice I can give you is to just treat her better. Help to stop the bullying obviously and DO NOT let your 'reputation' get in the way and definitely don't tell anyone her 'secret', if you want to call it that," she said using air quotations with her fingers," as she must have a reason for not telling anyone. Just show her that you are trying to improve and be nicer but if you are doing this for her looks then I suggest you forget it because that is just stupid and degrading. Once she is on decent terms with you give her a sincere, genuine, meaningful apology. If your apology is all those things she will be able to see it, trust me, and she will hopefully not hate you. That's the best advice I can give but it all depends on how you do it and how she reacts."

"Thanks mom."

"Your welcome sweetie. And here is your breakfast." She said as she turned around and placed the plate of eggs, bacon and toast with orange juice.

"Thanks."

"Now I have got to get to the university for my lectures. I have I think 3 today and then I am going out with some of my fellow girl lecturers for coffee so I'll be back later."

His mom was the head of the literacy department at the local university. It paid pretty decent. She had worked there after being a kindergarten and high school English teacher. She was very smart.

His parents had met at a flower shop when he was visiting Toronto. They dated for a year before getting married and having Aubrey Drake Graham. His dad moved to live in Toronto with his mom in the downtown area as that was all they could afford. They then got divorced 5 years later cause his dad, Dennis, had been cheating on Sandi. Aubrey hated him for that. Dennis moved back home to Memphis when Aubrey was around 8, 3 years after the divorce and Aubrey would go to visit him occasionally, which is where he discovered his love for music. His dad and uncle always playing blues and soul music was very influential.

He very rarely visited him now as he held a grudge now that he had more of an understanding of what he had actually done all those years ago. His mom didn't move them until he was about 14, so four years ago, when she decided that the lifestyle they had wasn't the best and the people were a bad influence on him. So, they saved money and moved to the 'safer area' or as Aubrey called it 'the white area', where his mom thought he would also get a better education but it didn't make a difference on his grades. It didn't matter what school or people. He was only interested in two things; sport and music.
