Aurora at the age of 17 has been blessed with a perfect hourglass figure and natural beauty but has two sides to her. She chooses that when it comes to school it isn't about who's the prettiest, who's lost their virginity and boyfriends but studying so she can be a successful fashion designer. No one at her school knows of her aspiration as Aurora knows they will just try to crush her dreams. Her mother drinks her pain away at night but is always there for Aurora and in the days, works hard so they can pay the bills and eat. Her father was a deadbeat when her mom got pregnant at 16. At school, everyone calls her Rory and she makes no effort with her appearance. She always wears baggy clothes such as sweatpants and sweatshirts so no one will notice her body and get unwanted attention. She covers her face with hair, wears no makeup and has glasses. People have come to the conclusion that she is ugly and fat and bully her for it. All the other girls are skinny and shapeless Caucasians so that is what the guys are used to being attracted to. But when it comes to the weekend she shows her true personality and a different side to the straight A student. She is always on fleek with her appearance and hangs downtown, where no other people from her school go, and hang with her two closest friends, who go to a different school, Jessa and Harper, who are also African-American mixes and have curvy bodies.

Drake is a Jewish, Canadian and African-American 17-year-old with a perfectly manicured beard which makes him look more mature than he is. Drake is one of the most popular guys at his high school. He lives with his mom Sandi but his dad has lived in Memphis since their divorce. All the girls want him. He has had many girlfriends in the past. They were all shapeless females that sucked up to him. He finally has gotten sick of that type is single until he finds someone different. He and his friend group, which includes Jahron, Oliver, Noah, Jhene, Ashley and Lily, just like everyone else in the school love to pick on this fat, ugly and geeky girl called Rory.
