Chapter 17: War Zone

[WARNING: A little (a lot) more gory than usual!]
Shifty's POV:
We were still looking through the drawer filled with files about my brother and I. I then realized that now I am the only one looking through the drawer. I looked over at Lifty, who was looking through some old, scruffy looking book.

"What's that?" I questioned.

Lifty threw it behind his back with a mix of surprise and shock planted on his face.

"Nothing!" He said very quickly, obviously trying to hide something. "Have you found anything interesting?" Lifty then asks.

I decided to just forget about the book, "Nope, nothing." I answered.

All of a sudden, what sounded like a huge bomb, blasted above ground. A huge siren started going off. Many people who were trying to escape the underground were pushed back into either their homes or in the gun factory, so they can grab a gun and get ready to fight. Lifty and I stayed inside. But I couldn't see Flippy in the crowd.

Where the bomb blasted, another one went off again. Only this time, the roof fell, crushing many people who were unfortunate enough to be under it. The sound of bones snapping and people's blood and organs squashing was so fucking loud you probably hear a "snap!" and a "squish" from miles away.

People started running to the hole with guns and started to shoot the upper grounds. Many people from above started falling into the pit. Dead. When all the amo ran out, two people started climbing into the hole. It was too far away so I couldn't see who it was.

"Isn't anyone gonna shoot them?" Lifty asked.

"I don't know." I replied.

All we could hear the two figures say is "Where is ------".

We could not hear the rest...
