Chapter 27: Finding Them

Shifty's POV:

Day 5 of 7

At Tiger Base

"Do you know where Lifty is?" I asked after Spencer came back.

He hesitated for a moment, "Well, no.".

"Well then what are you waiting for?! Go find him!" I yelled.

"What is this guy thinking?! We can't just go without Lifty." I thought to myself.

3rd POV:

Spencer left to go look for the Lifty. He turned through all the halls, but found out he wasn't in any of those rooms.

"He's probably in one of the secret rooms, under the middle hallway. Figures, they wouldn't want Lifty and Shifty on the same floor." Spencer thought to himself.

He walked through the middle hallway and unlocked the door next to all the cells. What was beyond that door was a staircase, which Spencer walked down. There laid two secret rooms with doors with one small window. Spencer looked through the window of the right side door. No one in there. Spencer was about to look through the left door window, but Tiger General slammed the door wide open.

"What are you doing here?!" Tiger General screamed.

"I- I got lost. Sorry sir." The redhead mumbled

"Jeez Splendont. I don't want to see this happen again!" The General demanded.

"Yes sir!" Splendont said and saluted.

Splendont started walking back up, but first looked through the the left door window. There he was, just sitting there staring at the floor. Lifty has definitely seen better days. He looks all scratched and beaten up, plus very bony like. It seems like he has not eaten in days and had barely any water.

"Serves him right for trying to kill me." Spencer thought to himself.

Spencer went back to where Shifty was. Shifty raised a questioning eyebrow.

"Yeah, I found where they put him." Spencer said.

"How's he holding up?" Shifty asked.

"Well he definitely could be doing better, they put him in the secret jail rooms. They probably didn't want you guys finding each other so." Spencer stated.

"Yeah. , probably.".

"Well lets go!" Spencer said and opened the prison cell.

Shifty started to walk out but stopped when a gun was pointed at his head.

Later that day

Lifty sat on the chair, cold and afraid. He heard Splendont is alive from hearing Tiger General screaming at him. He doesn't know why to do though. Will he kill Shifty? Lifty isn't even sure if he is alive at this point.

He thought of how he was going to be killed. He knows that this is the end. If the rebellion was going to save them, they would have done it by now. He replayed the tape that was recorded to the rebellion. Lifty is almost positive that no secret messages were sent. How could there be? Just then, someone slammed the door open.

Tiger General marched over to Lifty. He stared him down, with a furious expression. He started to yell.

"You liar! I knew it! I knew there was a secret message!".

"I do not know what you are talking about.".

"Yes you do! Don't lie! I saw Flippy lipping something to you! What did he say?!" Tiger screamed.

"I don't know, like I told you. I didn't see him doing that." Lifty responded.

"Liar! You were looking straight at the camera!".

"No I wasn't.".

Everything went quiet for what felt like an eternity. Tiger general stayed calm and said this.

"As punishment for lying, you shall be killed tomorrow instead of two days from now."

He left without saying another word.

With rebel group

Splendid, Flippy, and Cuddles are just outside the Tiger Base. They found an unguarded door there and decided to go through there. Once inside and alone, Flippy wanted to say something.

"Okay team, this is it. We will have to separate now for a better chance of finding them. Good luck.".

They separated and started searching. Splendid was walking quietly through the hallways looking into each cell when suddenly, he sees a cell that's wide open. He  looks inside only to see a couple drops of blood. Splendid figured that Shifty or Lifty was not in there.

Cuddles was quietly examining the hallways when he saw a door that is not connected to the cells. He opened it and saw a staircase. He walked down it to find two rooms. One with the door wide open. Cuddles walked inside to see a dying, beaten up Lifty.

"Oh my gosh Lifty are you okay?" He yelled and ran over to him.

Lifty coughed up some blood, "Do I like I'm okay, you idiot?".

"Well at least I know your still the same jerk I always knew.".

"It took you guys long enough. They were going to kill me tomorrow for 'lying'.".

"Yeah we got here earlier then expected. Do you know where your brother is?" Cuddles asked.

"How would I know?" Lifty responded. "Now could you get me out of this chair? Not getting any younger over here.".

"Alright, Alright. Jeez.".

But then a gun went off and hit Cuddles, and then it was pointed at Lifty, followed by a dark chuckle.
