Dawn shot up from his bed, his head pounding like a drum. It wouldn't stop, for it seemed the pounding only got louder, or harder? He didn't know what to call it. The only thing he knew, was that this hurt, hurt him down to the bone. Yet, he couldn't stop. Then, around him there was a maniacal laugh. Disembodied, and chilling. It laughed, and laughed. Dawn shook his head, "No! Stop it!" Then it stopped, he looked around the room and it was just empty. He took his hands off his face, feeling something wet. He wiped his face, feeling the wet salty tears stain his cheeks and continue to run down his face like an uncontrollable waterfall. Dawn shook his head quickly, and wiped his face with the blanket. He ran his hand through his hair, and fell onto the bed.
Suddenly, he heard the door open, and he looked over at the frame. Light shined in like the early morning sun, with the shadow of someone standing in the door way. "Dawn..?" Ashlie whispered. Dawn hummed a 'what?' and Ashlie walked in. "I wanted to make sure you were doing okay Uni said you weren't looking to well at the diner this morning and that's why you came up to take a nap," she explained. Dawn nodded as he placed his arm over his eyes, closing them tiredly. Ashlie came over, and sat on the bed, glancing at Dawn her face stained with worry. "Ashlie I'm fine. Just....," he sighed, thinking of an excuse for her to leave. "I just need to change my shirt, I think I spilled coffee on it at the diner," he lied. Ashlie nodded understandingly, as she slowly got up and headed for the door. She paused in the frame, glancing back at Dawn who began taking his shirt off. She gave a small smile to herself, then headed out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Dawn stepped down the stairs, peering into the kitchen at the others. He could hear the bickering between Uni and Cory about something, little. Then the laughter of Melody, hearing it was like hearing the joyful noises of an amusement park; exciting. Dawn walked into the kitchen, the bright lights shining brightly on him like spotlights, blinding him for a split second. He looked at the stove, reading the time; 11:32 am. It was still pretty early in the day, and Dawn didn't want to waste anymore of it.
"Hey Dawn how was your nap buddy?" Dawn looked up and saw a man in a black trench coat, and hat. Dawn stepped back, gasping, his face stained with worry. The man leaned up against the wall, a cigarette hanging from his mouth, the tip burnt with red ash and still lit. "So Dawn, how ya feelin'? Bud," the man said again. Suddenly, a hand was put on Dawn's shoulder, he quickly turned around seeing Melody looking at him with a worryful look. "Hey Dawn you okay?" she asked. Dawn shook his head dismissively, then turned back around to find no man. What the hell is wrong with me? , he thought. Melody raised a brow, "What? I'm guessing you saw the chip on the corner on the counter. Yeah it's real bad." Dawn looked at her confused, then at the corner of the counter. There, a huge chip in the corner, all that granite gone. Dawn shook his head, "Yeah that's it. We should get that fixed or something." Dawn looked about seeing the house empty of everyone else, "Where is everyone?" Melody shrugged, "They should be around, don't know. I guess you just have to look, this is a mansion after all." Dawn nodded, as he wondered where everyone could be.

"You sure we aren't gonna get lost AJ?" Shelby asked, as she attempted to balance on a fallen tree. She lost her balance and slip, falling onto the dirt and then looking up at AJ. "Positive, there's only one path, and so we can just follow it back," AJ said helping Shelby up. Shelby looked about, the woods were vast and endless. Many trees had fallen down, and few flowers or plant life grew on the floor bed. However, the sun shined brightly above them, peering in through the rooftops of the hooded trees above. They kept going on down the wide open path, that seemed to go on forever.
Suddenly, there was a rustle beside them, Shelby's eyes widened and she ran to AJ. She hugged her arm, looking about frantically. AJ raised a brow, "Oh come on! You can't be scared already!" Shelby stopped them and pointed to a bush, "I heard something!" AJ looked at the bush and raised a brow. Then there was a low growl from the bush, with two red glowing eyes peering at them from within the thickets. AJ's courage dropped and her eyes widened. The beast growled again, louder and more demonic like. Both girls looked at each other then nodded. "Rike run ror it Raggy!" Shelby exclaimed. "Zoinks Scoobs!" AJ yelled as they both ran back down the path like a cartoon animation.
