Little Mind Game

|| Chapter ~ 2 ||

Dawn pulled the car to the side of the curb. Waiting, for AJ, Calla and Ashlie to walk out of the airport. Melody still listened to her music, with one earbud in and one out. It was quiet, even with the music of the car radio on. Dawn's hands became sweaty and clammy as he still gripped the wheel tightly. "You okay?" Melody suddenly asked. Dawn turned to her as she had now put her phone away. He nodded and she smiled. "Let's wait outside by the car for them, so they can spot us right away," Melody suggested. Dawn confirmed by nodding. They both got out and leaned against the car, waiting.

~At Home~

Shelby ran up the stairs and followed the sound, until, it stopped. She stopped and listened closely for the sound to ring through the house one last time. Silence. The boys stood behind her listening. "See? It's probably a mouse or something! Nothing special," Tommy said. He was then shushed by everyone else. Cory looked down the hall, every door was opened except one. It was a dark oak door seeming to almost be a burnt charcoal black from where they were standing. He crept down the hall towards it, reaching for the handle. Then he turned around, facing the others and seeming to have an answer.

"I think Shelby should open the door," he stated as he got out of the way for her to get through. "Why me?" She asked. Cory shrugged, "You just seem more eager to do this than anyone else so why not?" Shelby nodded then reached for the handle. She turned it down and opened the door a crack. She peaked her head in. Nick, Tommy, Cory, and Uni peaked in their heads either under Shelby's or over, depending on their heights. Shelby then opened the door all the way leaving them to be able to see the whole room.

It was empty, except for a single pair of wind chimes hanging from the ceiling in front of a one and only window. The window was the only spotlight of the room, it was the stage. It gave the lighting and wind movements for the chimes, while the chimes did the dancing and singing. The whole act! It was fascinating. Shelby herself, was drawn to it. She loved the act, like it was a joyful play. Shelby opened the door, leaving it wide open for everyone else. Her eyes were hypnotized by the bright silver that was the chimes.

Shelby walked over to the chimes and reached out her hand to touch them. Suddenly, Tommy grabbed her wrist and looked at her dead in the eye. "We shouldn't be touching these. We don't know who's these are and if the person would like us touching them," he said firmly. Cory looked at him confused. "Tom, didn't you just say that this was-" Nick was then cut off. "I know what I said! I just have a really bad feeling, alright?! We should leave this room and not touch these," Tommy warned. Shelby nodded and lowered her hand, she's never seen Tommy on edge this much about something so small.

~In The Car~

"I never needed you to give me things!" Ashlie sang. Melody danced in the passenger seat as Dawn kept driving. AJ looked at Calla trying not to laugh while she danced like a maniac. "I never needed gifts or diamond rings!" Ashlie continued. Calla nudged AJ and nodded. AJ shook her head rolling her eyes playfully. Calla then sang, " All I ever need I! Need I! All I ever need is here with you!"

"Your turn Mel!" Ashlie said. Melody shook her head, "Im not one for singing." Ashlie whined a bit then smiled. She leaned forward and whispered something in Dawn's ear. Dawn smiled and nodded. "But you owe me," he said. Ashlie nodded smiling. "Baby there's a place where we can go! Where it's always shining like the snow! Listen to your hearts beat and don't you know! That I just want to be with you!" Dawn sang nicely. Melody looked shocked as AJ attempted to hold in her laughter. "That was awesome Dawn!" Calla exclaimed. "Yeah it was great!" Melody said. Dawn blushed a slight shade of pink. "Thanks," he mumbled.
