The drive to the crime scene was akwardly silent even though Ziva tried her best to start a conversation. Gibbs was the one driving and  didn't mouth a single word the whole time , making Kelly feel uncomfortable so she resigned to staring  blankly at the window .
The crime scene was already sealed and police officers were surrounding the place. The dead marine was lying on the floor, swimming in a pool of his own blood. It looked like stomach stabs. Everyone was waiting for Ducky to examine the corpse.
" How was the ride?" Tony asked ziva.
" very akward. I tried to talk to her but Gibbs didn't say word the whole ride. It was ridiculous. He could at least have tried to make her feel a bit at ease".
" You're talking about Gibbs like he is the warmest most talkative guy ever" Mcgee joked.
" No.. I do know he is not much into words. But it's like something is really bothering him"
Tony exhaled deeply :" I think it has to do with her name"
"I thought about it too"
Mcgee looked around to see Kelly concentrated on taking shots of the dead marine as he added :" I hope he will overcome what he is feeling soon. She doesn't deserve to be treated this way. He litteraly ignores her".

Ducky finally arrived, followed by Jimmy dragging the gurney behind him.
"You're late Duck"
"Such a warm greeting Jethro...Oh .. And you must be the new young lady who joined us today" Ducky said; grinning when he noticed kelly standing beside Tony.
Kelly smiled back and shook his hand.
" Kelly. Kelly Guvan. Nice to meet you"
" it is such a pleasure to meet you my dear. You can call me Ducky. Welcome abroad"
Gibbs cut him, looking annoyed :" No time for greetings, you can say hi to the new agent afterwards. Now I need you to examine our dead marine"
" I apologize for his bad manners. I would be lying if I said he is not always like this." ducky shrugged then turned his attention to the corpse .

The rest of the day went by quickly and kelly got to know the rest of the team slightly better. She took lunch with Tony and Abby, and listened to his ramblings about Movies and  women. Mcgee was distant , but friendly , and offered to help her unpack. She felt ziva was the one who tried the most to make her feel at ease, because she used every opportunity to chat with kelly and tell her about how the team worked. So all in all, it was a good first day, even though she herself didn't talk much , just listened. Except for Gibbs. He litteraly ignored her all day. and in the rare times he spoke to her, or rather ordered something, he called her new agent or probie. He obviously didn't like her to the extent of not even calling her by her name.
It was when everyone was preparing to go when kelly finally exploded. " I think Gibbs doesn't like me"
Every one of them turned to her.
" Yeah ..I am pretty sure he doesn't like me. He ignored me all day and didn't even memorise my name"
Ziva and mcgee lowered their gazes, and tony tried to reassure her:" don't worry..It will get better. He is not always like that".
Kelly played with her hair anxiously " I already heard he was tough..but.. I didn' t expect that. I thought he will at least give me a chance to prove myself".
" It has nothing to do with you" Ziva blurted out and Tony glared at her.
" what do you mean?" Kelly asked.
" It's not our story to tell. You will know when the time is right.. now Good night" Tony said as he pulled ziva and mcgee with him, leaving Kelly standing alone in the squad room. She could hear their hushed tones while they were  waiting for the elevator. She felt more lost than ever. The team was a closed group. She felt she will probably never belong. What did tony mean by it wasn't their story to tell? which story?
She gathered her things quickly. Put her coat on and left the squad room too. she thought about all the mess that was waiting for her in the appartment she just rented. It was more of a studio, a bedroom with its bathroom, a small living room and a smaller kitchen. She didn't have any money left after what happened with her dad, she shook the thoughts away when she felt the pain of her bruises return. She was starting fresh, that was the point. A new life, a new place, a new job. Working for the FBI for more than 7 years was good for her CV. She didn't miss working there at all. Not after all the complications of her last mission. She got lucky they transfered her here, her Boss could have terminated her carrer the moment he wanted. But he didn't. It wasn't that he liked her that much, but rather because it jeoperdazed his own carrer as well.
She didn't want to have any problems in NCIS. She just wanted to follow orders and blend in for the time being, until every thing calmed as her boss said. But Gibbs was not helping. He was ignoring her all day and didn't even bother to learn her name. He had a reputation of being an incomparable leader and an exellent field agent. If he doesn't get satisfied with her work, If he doesn't want her here. It will only cause her more problems. She needed him to be okay with her and let her blend in. She wanted to bury herself in work.
