Avita: Latin for "life".

So it only seemed fit that the Goddess of Life be given that name, however, she prefer (Y/N). Statues, holidays, sacrifices. The first child of the universe, she is one of the most worshipped of her family, but one day, she noticed something was different, very different. In a certain part of the world, the death toll was rising faster than birth rates. People were killing off their own kind. But she has no idea where.

My search has lead me inside of a mountain, I frowned, this is where the monsters were sealed away by the humans. I see it as a senseless act, I think they should be free. No wonder they're all killing each other off, they've gone mad.

I knew exactly where to go in order to sort this out. The King himself. I teleported myself into his castle, I appeared as a bright light, I decided not to reveal my human form not my heavenly one, but to stay as an apparition.

King Asgore froze at my presence, recognizing my heavenly status. "King Asgore." I addressed, he stood up straight, not saying a word. "I am Avita." His eyes widened, "W-Well, it seems you're in the wrong place." He said, referring to how murderous his kingdom is. "I am aware. And that is why I've come. I mean to fix it." "Fix it?" "Yes." I smirked at his shocked expression. He was still awestruck. I would expect he would try to stop me, if he wasn't in such a shocked state as this.

I took a deep breath, sending out my magic in the form of a bright and powerful wave of light, spreading across Asgore's kingdom, washing over his people, even though they can't see it, only I can. I felt the urge for death melting away, fruit-bearing trees sprouted, wheat grew, and the water was pure again. The King fell to his knees, baffled by the feelings that washed over him. "H-How did you-?" His voice trailed off, as a loss for words. I smiled, though he couldn't see it. "I couldn't allow this imbalance to continue, this place needed life."

Footsteps rang out, hurrying towards the throne room. A tall skeleton with cracks on his skull appeared, he looked furious and confused at the same time. "King, the reading on the Core ar-" He cut himself off when he saw his King kneeling before a bright light. The skeleton seemed to be aware of who I am as well. "Avita." The King announced. The skeleton looked sort of freaked out.

I decided to turn to my human form.

(The picture above is how I imagine the outfit)

My headdress and gown appeared, a baby deer lay at my feet, a few birds were perched in the horns of my headpiece. I smiled, "I prefer (Y/N)." I just like the name better, and it makes me feel like I'm not just a goddess, but a normal person too. I like the feeling.

The skeleton bowed as well, "I-I'm Dr. Gaster. Wingdings Gaster." He then looked up at me, curious. "How did you do that?" "Magic." "What kind of magic? Spells, charms, enchantments?" I chuckled some, "Curious, aren't we? It was none of that, just a natural power." He seemed very interested. "A scientist, I presume?" He nodded at this, "Well, I would be glad to answer any questions." I said and he smiled at this. "W-Would you mind coming d-down to my Lab?" "Lets go."

It took a moment to get the baby deer to get up, but eventually she followed. I walked with Gaster. "So, as a goddess, how were you made?" I smiled. "It's simple! The universe formed me from the stars and moons, formed this planet out of rock, sent me to it, and I gave it life. I've been watching over it ever since. I am Mother Earth." His mouth fell open for a moment, "Really?" He asked and I nodded. "Really. And I must say, I'm very disappointed in your kind. I didn't create you with this in mind, I never would of thought you would all try to kill each other."

He frowned sheepishly as we arrived at his laboratory. "Sorry." He said and I sighed softly, "No matter, I've done what I must." He gasped when we entered, there was an apple tree inside of a huge pot of dirt with grape vines wrapped around it. "W-What is this?" He asked as he rushed over to it. "I-I was doing experiments on the soil, trying to make it fertile. We're starving down here, the King never shared his food, we were dying a-and....." He fell silent. "I did it. I knew hunger was one of the reasons for violence, less people, more rations. So I gave fruits and wheat."

He looked at me in amazement. "How?!" "I sent out life. Life for all, life for everything, life for foods and people, life to bring hope and happiness back." I said, my arms lifting out of passion. Gaster seemed happy. I smiled down at him. "Thank you, thank you." He said softly. I stepped towards him with a slight smirk, kissing his cheek. His cheekbones turned completely red as he looked away. "I'm afraid I'm too old for you." He said sheepishly. I laughed, "I'm older than this Earth, I promise it's the other way around." I said back and he chuckled some. "I haven't laughed in years." He commented, frowning some.

I set a hand on his shoulder. "Well, my kindness doesn't end here." I said and I held up a gift. A red SOUL. "Here. It never belonged to anyone, I just made it. I do believe you need some to break the barrier." He covered his mouth in shock. "You're going to free us?!" "Of course! Now that there is hope once more, I plan to let you all free in a few days. But I do want to give some time for everyone to make amends with themselves." He nodded, "Of course!" Since it would lead to freedom, he was quick to agree.

"I'll make one SOUL a day. So, I guess I'll be here a few days." I said and he nodded some, "I suppose you will." "I hope you don't mind my company." "Not at all." He said.

I then looked at his attire. A black sweater and lab coat with a red scarf. I tilted my head some. "Are red and black fashionable colors here?" I asked and he nodded. I looked down at myself. "I suppose I can't be one to judge. After all, I'm the one with birds in her hair." I said with a chuckle, one of the birds then flew over to Gaster, landing on his shoulder and looking up at him. He froze at this, he probably hasn't seen wildlife since they were sealed in the Underground. "Don't worry, he's harmless. Just curious." "That's what my assistants said to my victims."

I raised an eyebrow at this choice of words. Victims instead of subjects. Though, I suppose tormenting someone to death for the sole purpose of killing them would make them victims rather than subjects. I looked him up and down. "I know what you've done, Gaster. It doesn't scare me." I said firmly, he looked up at me, "All that death, can't shake the goddess of life?" He questioned. I stood my ground, "Not in the slightest." I said back. "How? Wouldn't you hate death?" I frowned some. "I don't hate it. I respect it. I could stop it, I could end it. But I don't. I choose to let it go on. I accept it. It doesn't scare me. After all, death is a product of life. I am the mother of death."

Gaster tilted his head, "You never fail to impress." He commented, I smirked some. "Thank you." I said back and he chuckled some. "I don't understand why you make me feel so happy." I raised an eyebrow. "Well, I'm not using any magic. I don't really know why either. Maybe you've fallen in love." I teased and he blushed again, looking away again. "I doubt it. I haven't loved in centuries." "Neither have I." I said and he looked at me, deep into my eyes.

I approached, not breaking the stare, I set a hand on his cheek, using some magic to heal some of the smaller cracks. His mouth opened, as if he was going to say something, but then it closed.

I remained with Gaster, creating the needed SOULs to free them through the next few days. When they broke the barrier, it was a joyous day. Freedom at last.

I walked outside with Gaster. "Wow." He said as he looked out with everyone else. "Do you like it? I made it myself." I said with a small smirk, he looked at me with wide eyes. "You made all this?" "Everything that lives. All the nature and animals." "This is amazing." He said and I then reached over, I held his hand. He looked at me, surprised, but he held my hand as well. "I have been meaning to take better care of my creation. I am guardian of the Earth, perhaps I could stick with you?"

Gaster smiled for the first time, "I would like that."
