"Falcone?" I asked

"Yes. He'd love to have you on our team." Oswald persuaded.

"Our?? You're working for Falcone?" I questioned.

"More like working with." He corrected.

"Bull." I called, he couldn't be serious.

"I'm serious Charlie. Once I'm done with that dumbbow, Maroni, it'll be just Mooney and Falcone. Falcone will retire and miss Mooney will die." He explained.

"One hell of a plan Oswald. But one flaw. I don't want in." I said turning and walking away.

"Is this cause Gordon got to you? Well wheres daddy now? Too busy for you?" Oswald pushed, striking a nerve. I stopped.

"Leave us alone Oswald." I growled.

"You know where to find me if you change your mind," he yelled after me as I turned the corner. That man was insane. He wanted to become the king of Gotham, big tittle for a little man. He had it in his future, but not in the immediate future.

I crawled in through the window. Rain drops dripped down my hood.

"I was wondering when you'd be back?" I froze at the sound of Gordon's voice.

"I can explain..."

"Please do. Take a seat and let's talk," he said in a normal speaking tone. I took off my hood and closed the window, looking over to James. He sat in the kitchen waiting for me to join him. The kitchen light was on overhead and he was still wearing his badge.

"You're not mad?" I asked, slowly walking over to the table.

"Nope. How was your day?" He asked nicely. I sat down at the table.

"Uh. Pretty good. You? I notice you're home early," I looked over the clock on the wall.

"Ah. I'm pretty tired. We caught the killer today," he said smirking.

"That's great," I responded.

"Now. Let's try you again. How was your day?" He said looking me deep in the eyes.

"I'm not telling you where I went Jim," I refused.

"Well I know where you're going tomorrow" he said. I waited a moment for him to say where. "I'm taking you to work," he said. My heart dropped.

"Bad idea. If falcone..." I started to say then stopped immediately.

"Woah. Go back. What about falcone?" He asked. I avoided eye contact. "Hey. You can tell me anything," he tried to look at me in the eyes. "And I'm not just saying that. You really can," he added. Jim was a great guy, an amazing cop and well, a good parental figure... "I don't lie to you.... please, don't lie to me," he begged. I looked Jim in the eyes and sighed.

"If falcone thinks I'm back to being the hood. He'll kill me," I said. Gordon nodded.

"Where did you go today?" He asked again.

"Jim..." I groaned.

"Where were you!" He shouted. I reached into my jacket and pulled out the newspaper throwing it on table.

"I went to see Mooney. Instead I saw this,"  Jim glanced down at the newspaper.

"We're in today's paper..." He asked waiting for me to elaborate.

"This might be good for your public appearance but not mine. Certain people now know my whereabouts and could make them think I'm working with you..." I said starting to piece some more things together. "I have to see Oswald..." I mumbled. Jim froze, he heard me...

"Oswald cobblepot...?" He said staring off into space.

"He's supposed to be dead," I said. Jim snapped out of it.

"You know he's alive??" He questioned.

"He pulled me into an alley. Gave me a job opportunity!" I said panicked by Jim's attitude. He swore under his breath.

"When?!" He asked.

"Today..." I answered. Jim looked flustered. He put his hands on his head.

"Dammit!!" He shouted.

"Jim.. what's wrong?"

"That son of a bitch is supposed to be dead!" Jim said grabbing his keys and existing the apartment.

I had to keep my head above water... I stood up at went over to the phone on the wall. I dialed a series of numbers. The phone rang and someone picked up.

"Falcone? It's the hood. I'm in."
