~~Few Days Later~~

The last few days were some of the best for Fish and her business. I pointed out obvious lies, got Fish her money, but men were nearly beat to death for lying. They would have beat the men anyway but my method got the money faster... Word of my ability got out onto the street. Some people feared me, some people thought I was a myth, they called me some stupid names though. The human lie detector, and the red hood. People who owed Miss Mooney started paying on time and Fish started giving exception to make my job easier. If they told the truth they didn't get beat, but if they did... Well, you get the point.

I sat in the bar talking to the cute bar tender. He gave me a non alcoholic beverage. Suddenly two cops walked up into the joint demanding to see Fish. The bar tender turned away as if we hadn't been talking. I turned around making eye contact with the younger of the two. I quickly looked away and saw the bartender glance next to me. I swore under my breath.
"What's your name?" He asked sitting down right next to me.

"You first," I said taking another drink.

"I'm detective Jim Gordon. Now it's your turn," he said.

"Charlie" I replied.

"What are you doing here Charlie?" He asked trying to interrogate me. I laughed.

"What's so funny?" He asked.

"Nothing" I lied. I took another drink. Fish walked up to his partner, gave him a quick kiss on the lips and looked over to us.

"I see you met my favorite girl," she said.

"Favorite girl? Why?" Jim asked. His partner shot him a look.

"Don't worry Bullock. She calls out my liars and gets me my money," she explained. Bullock looked shocked.

"This is the Red Hood??" He asked.

"Red Hood?" Jim questioned.

"Fish's human lie detector," Bullock cleared up. I looked down at my glass.

"This kid has men running scared, keeping people honest," Bullock said. I could feel Jim's eyes on me. Then Fish and Bullock talked alone and Jim tried getting more answers.

"How old are you?? Why are you working for Fish?" He asked. I finally looked him in the eyes.

"Not telling," I said simply. Jim grabbed my glass from me and sniffed it. No alcohol. He set it down.

"Have we met before...? You look oddly familiar" he said.

"Nope" I answered. Then there was a long pause.

"You know, you could use this... Gift, for good. You could be saving lives," he said. I shook my head.

"Jim Gordon. I'll answer one question honestly and that's it," I said. He thought about the question he wanted to ask. He was unsure.

"Are you happy with what you are doing?" He asked. I laughed a little.

"No. I'm not," I said truthfully. His partner came back and urged that they leave. Right before he left he whispered something in my ear.

"I want to help you. Come to the precinct when you need it" he said. Then he jumped up and walked away. Miss Mooney made her way toward me.

"What did he say?" She asked. I shrugged.

"Don't know... I didn't hear it," I said lying convincingly. Suddenly, an older man came in.

"Quickly, go home," Miss Mooney whispered. I got up and started to walk away.

"Oh, no Fish. She can stay. I'd like to have a word with you two" he said. I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around to see Fish's face. She wasn't happy and a bit scared. The man sat down at a booth. Fish and I sat across from him.

"Don Falcone. What a wonderful surprise" Fish said. I shook hands with him.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Falcone," I greeted.

"What brings you here Don?" She asked.

"Well. I heard that you had someone who could tell if someone was lying... This little one is making sinful men honest. A little too honest," he said. Miss Mooney frowned.

"It's bad for business Fish... And if business doesn't get better... The hood won't be the only thing covered in red" he said.

"You wouldn't" Fish said trying to call his bluff.

"Why don't you ask her if I'm lying" he said standing up and walking away. She looks towards me and I shook my head.

"Dead serious" I said. Miss Mooney got up and looked as if she was going to break something then turned to me.

"You gotta get out of here and you can never come back" she started to say.

"But Miss-" I stopped.

"No buts baby, you gotta go. I'm giving you back the warehouse. Just don't let Falcone catch you around here. Okay??" She said. I ran out of the place and out into the rain. Why was it always raining!!! I threw my hood over my head and walked back toward the warehouse. I climbed up a ladder and took the rooftops. Suddenly I felt someone following me.

"Must we always met like this?" I asked.

"Only when you've been away for awhile" Cat said walking up to me. I pulled her into a hug.

"Too long" I said exiting the hug.

"I would ask you what you've been up to, but I've been following you... I like it" she said.

"Following me?" I asked.

"No. Your new nickname," she said.

"Oh. You heard about that," I said.

"Well yeah. I knew that freaky gift of yours came in handy" she said patting me on the shoulder.

"Yeah. But I'm not gonna use it anymore" I said.

"What?! Why not?? You have a super power that everyone is scared of and you don't want to mess with some people?" She said.

"Some people were afraid more than others. I lost my job with Fish. Falcone came in threatening to kill me if I used It anymore" I explained.

"No... He threatened to kill you if you were using it working for Fish," she pointed out.

"I don't know Cat..." I said.

"Oh come on. Just a little fun?" She pushed.

"Maybe..." I said.

"Yes!! I knew you weren't lame" she said.

"Hey, I didn't say yes," I said.

"Yet..." She argued.

"Come on, we should get out of this rain," I suggested. I started to walk.

"Where are we going?" She called behind me.

"Home" I said back. Then Cat and I went to the warehouse.
