QOTC:

Chiruka:You had Ino drooling over you and your marshmallows.

Kiba:Yeah, if only knew you were there. You would have been too drunk to notice.

Chiruka:I was faking most of it.

Kiba: So was I.

Chapter 42: Always and Forever

Afternoon light woke Temari, a pale brightness that shone itself directly through her face, reflecting the insides of her cornea to dull orange. She stirred restlessly and warily opened her eyes.

Gaara, Hotaru and two or so others were there, panicking.

"Are you alright Temari?"

The fever was still there; claiming her. And so is the sense that her stomach might fall out of her orgasm. She sat up and glanced with curious eyes. She must be in somewhat a hospital room—it wasn't small, but built especially for the Kazekage's emergency. Linen curtains were drawn over square windows, letting in circles of light. She sat up slowly, waiting for her belly to cry out again. Nothing happened. She felt entirely healthy, even well-rested. But she couldn't escape the idea that some part of her was torn.

"You're awake." Gaara said, his arms crossed. He looked grumpy.

"Thank goodness," Hotaru exhaled in relief. "Do you remember anything?"

Temari looked down at herself. Someone had put her in the most decent suna hospital dress, though they were wrinkled now and too big for her; the sleeves hung down comically past her shoulders. There was a mirror on one side of the room, and her hair was loose and all messy. Gross.

"No, not at all..." Getting out of bed, a wave of dizziness washed over her again that made her climb back. "Careful." Now Hotaru's voice was beginning to sound like a broken stereo, like an old record back in the centuries. "Now tell me what you last recall."

The Sand-nin groaned, and she felt as if something was taped into her belly. Under the blanket, there was a peach-like cloth tied into it. Temari wondered where she'd got it. "All I remember was..."

"You've been like that ever since. You ok?" Shikamaru asked, looking worried.

"Yeah. I just—drank too much." Now Temari was barfing again, and this time Shikamaru patted her in the back. "Mendokusei." He muttered, and when she looked at him in the eye there was no trace of disgust. Just anxiety. "Listen... I'm sorry I brought you there last night. It's just... Maybe I shouldn't have involved you."

Temari laughed, and something beneathe her smile made him lose the look. "Oh come on.. It's not like it's the first party I've been into," she winked, and for a moment Shikamaru froze at the spot he was standing.

"Fell for that, didn't you?" She asked, and cracked up laughing again. Shikamaru couldn't help but beam at the thought. "Well you're not acting like yourself today."

"What's wrong with being so hyper?" She took her arm as they strutted back to the Kage meeting.

Nara boy cocked his head. "You really are a troublesome woman."

"Hold on... Can we just take a break please?"

Kankuro glared at her. "The hell is wrong with you"
