Veronica POV:
I'm just being paranoid. I know I'm just being paranoid.
After the ceremony, Duke and Mac took MacKenzie. Chandler and I want to have a date night tonight (which will probably only consist of movies and sex), so they offered to take her. Chandler tells me they're dating, which is quite possibly the sweetest thing I have ever heard. It doesn't stop me from being terrified that maybe I'm not being paranoid.
As Chandler and I go into the house after the reception, she doesn't start immediately kissing me like I assume that she will. "What happened at the ceremony today?" she asks, concerned. "It seemed like something scared you."
"What? No," I reply quickly. "No, nothing scared me. I was just... nervous, I guess."
"You sure?" she questions, raising an eyebrow.
"Positive," I assure her.
"Well then," she says, a smile spreading across her face, "would you like to see what your beautiful new bride looks like when she's wearing any clothes?"
This will probably definitely take my mind off of things. She moves closer to me, and I'm up against the wall, her hands pressed against it on either side just near my head. "I'd love to," I say, and I smile back.
"I don't know," she replies. "I'm feeling sort of tired. Do it for me?"
"Do it, um... yeah," I manage, and she takes my hand, leading me to the bedroom.
As soon as we're inside, I decide that it's my turn to take over for once. I have her up against the wall before she can blink. She lets out a little gasp as I reach behind her and unzip the red dress she'd worn to the reception, letting it fall to the floor. She's wearing matching lace lingerie, and I stare for a second.
"I seem to have rendered you speechless," she says with a smirk.
I immediately move forward, pressing my body up against hers and beginning to suck on her neck. She inhales sharply, and I continue to run kisses along her neck. She lets out a light moan as I do so, and I smile against her skin.
"I seem to have rendered you speechless," I mock.
"Shut up, Sawyer," she replies.
This is going to be a fun night.

THE NEXT MORNING...
Chandler is holding me from behind, and I move closer to her, letting her hold me. This is perfect. This is how every morning should be: waking up next to each other and never wanting to leave the bed. I smile, letting myself relax. Of course, the relaxation doesn't last long.
I hear my phone buzz on the bedside table. I'd put it there in the middle of the night last night after we'd gone to bed, wanting to have it there unless Mac or Duke needed something with MacKenzie. Thinking it must be one of them, I reach over and pick up the phone.
JD: miss me, darling?
Holy shit. I wasn't being paranoid. Oh, God.
Me: How the hell are you back here?
JD: i never left. i would've missed you too much. and now that there's a mini heather chandler running around, i had to see how you two were going to handle that. how is it being a mom? she seems like a handful.
Me: It's been five years. Just go live your life and leave us alone.
JD: you are my life.
