•~(Y/N) POV // A Few Hours Into The Future~•
I looked up at the clock and noticed that I have to get one of my chores done. I got up and placed my book back onto the shelf, I then turned to Horace and said, "I have to go do a chore, I will see you later then, Horace." To which he replied with, "Okay, also, I'll clean and put away the tray, cups, and plates." He smiled and stood up. He walked over to me and gave me a gentle hug, to which I hugged him back. "See you soon, Horace!" With that I walked out of the library and into the backyard.
I walked past Millard and Hugh, to which they both waved and I sent them both a smile and continued walking to one of the many bushes in the backyard.
I walked up to one that looks like a hippo made from roses and put my ear up to it. "There you are, little bird!" I gently reached into the bush and picked up the baby blue bird. This was one of my chores. I'd listen, looking for the faint heartbeat of a blue bird. And whenever I located it, I would reach in and gently grab it and fix it's wing. It's not very hard, but I've been scratched, pecked, and poked before while doing this. I carried the bird inside and set it down at a desk. I got closer to the wing and gently pulled, snapping it back into its correct place.
I usually dislike this chore, but today just seemed different. I didn't mind it, I didn't even get mad when Hugh kicked the ball and it almost knocked the bird from my hands. "Today has just been a very calm day. I hope the others think this as well." I then walked back outside and placed the bird back onto a low branch that I could reach. I walked back towards the house and whenever the ball that Millard and High pay with came bounding over to me, I kicked it back to them and continued my way inside.
I looked into the kitchen to see Emma heating some tea and Bronwyn came in, setting down a giant piece of broccoli. "Now I know what we are having to eat for dinner." I slightly groaned and walked into my room. I slept in the room next to Horace, which I quite enjoyed. If be one of the first people to go and comfort him. His nightmares always seemed to get out of hand, I felt bad for him. Then again, every peculiar has it's own downfall. With mind reading, no one can keep a secret. You'll always know what someone thinks of you, unless they don't think of that when you're around. Plus, hearing everything isn't good either, at first, almost everyone didn't even look at my face. Plus, without seeing their face I can't read their mind.
I pulled out my book, "Fantasies Among the Graveyard", and absolutely outstanding book. It's plot had action, details, and mystery. It followed the story of a young girl taken by crooks. They killed her and it basically shows her adventures as she tries to kill them all using her 'ghostly powers'.
In a way, it was funny. The way she was killed, and yet, she brought an even more horrid death upon the people who took her young life away. She deserves justice, and she got it. But at the cost of her admission into heaven. I certainly shed a few tears, I was never sure if they were because I was happy, sad, or just crying because the girl's own determination is the reason she will forever be a ghost that people fear. "I wish I could be as determined as the girl.. without all the death, though."
After I read some of it, I set it down and headed downstairs for dinner. I sat next to Horace and, as usual, we just talked about what happened during the day. Apparently, Millard found a new type of insect while he was looking through the forest, Olive had a tea party with Bronwyn and Claire, and as usual, Hugh and Fiona were snogging in behind the bushes. Which they lied about, and I quickly corrected them, saying a simple "Are you sure? I could've sworn that while you were telling us, you both were thinking of each other.. behind the rhino bush.. snogging each other's faces off!" Miss Peregrine sent them both a stern glare, while they both have me a death glare. Everyone else just started laughing, reading minds come in handy sometimes.
Enoch had spent his while day getting hearts from the rats, mice, and other small animals. To my surprise, Horace had stared to read the book I suggested. When asked about what I had done, I said, "I made apple pie, did my usual chores, and read my book. Nothing out of the ordinary.. just like every other day." I mumbled the last part, only Horace and Olive heard me.
"What was that, Miss (L/N)?" Miss Peregrine asked. "Nothing, Miss Peregrine. It was nothing." I quickly responded. Horace put a hand on my leg and gave me a sympathetic look. I blushed a dark red and smiled at hm before looking away. The rest of dinner was as usual, everyone ate, then we all flooded outside and watched as Miss Peregrine reset the loop.
After that, we all went to change into our night clothes, my night clothes, a simple (F/C), loose dress, only going to my knees.
(Imagine that it's your favorite color)
I went downstairs, and went to the study, where, of course, I worked on my writing. I've always wanted to write something, even an essay, on how us peculiars should be able to live within the current world outside the loop, if only.

Yes, a filler chapter. But I wanted to get a few things out there. Plus I needed to update. Sorry, next chapter is when they're getting ready for Jacob.
