CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE:
~MARIANNA'S POV~
I put my hands above my head causing confusion for the wolves on Devon's side. I hear several different types of growls and snarls. Some vicious and some scared. I laugh at his weakness and see Devon growling and snarling with them.
The only thing I can hear in my mind is the moon goddess telling me how I have more to fear than what I know. The whole time I was with her she never told me what I have to be afraid of. But, she did say it would be revealed during this fight.
I grab a nearby sword one of the pack member must have dropped and hear my name being called from people behind me. I put a shield up behind me knowing they were all going to try and stop me.
I see that Devon has now regained his composer and is looking at me with anger and fear in his eyes.
FEAR the one thing I know I can beat. I see an unknown male make his way up to Devon's side. The unknown male has on tribal clothing and white beads in his dark hair matching his dark skin.
He whispers something to Devon and when he turns towards me his face lifts and his mouth turns into an unnerving smile. I grimace back and look at him with challenging gazes. He slightly bows. I know from a shaman that is supposed to be a sign of respect. But from him I take it as a challenge.
I put my new sword at the ready and start head on toward the fight. There are wolves that I am able to block successfully I see Devon head off toward the darker part of the woods.
I have let the shield down now allowing the ones apart of my pack to start fighting and a few to block any chance of Devon escaping.
I lose sight of Devon and I am now standing alone in a field in the middle of the dark forest. There is fog everywhere.
"Hello is anyone there?" I yell out trying to bait Devon out of the tree line. I then get a sense of déjà vu.
My vision I had when ever they first attacked at the pack house. I had this vision play out in my head. I know what to be ready for, but how will I handle it.
I hear a branch break along the tree line. I see people fighting everywhere along that line. His voice sneaks up on me but I hide my shock and get ready for a battle.
"You. Think you have won princess but this is only the beginning!" He says with the evil glint in his dark eyes. I have to make sure my family stays safe no matter what. I have to try and change the vision before it comes true.
Remembering a saying the goddess told me 'One step can change everything in the future and affect the order of events everything is supposed to happen. Be careful child with what you do.'
I take my sword and run towards Devon. He meets me half way with his sword drawn and we clank them together causing and awful noise.
I kick my foot into Devons side. I use this distraction to take my sword and stab it into his stomach. I can't handle the lifeless look in his eyes. I turn around and close my eyes taking deep slow breaths. I look around and notice that the skies have darkened and the air is getting harder and harder to breathe.
