My Mate Rejected Me

Chapter Twenty Four- This is War part. 1

*RECAP*

"Marianna's dead, We found her body, on the border. I'm sorry."

~

How am I supposed to deal now. I have three pups without their mother. How are we going to survive without her.

~

I break down in tears and I feel like I'm experiencing an out of body sensation. I look up at the king with a feral look.

"Devon will pay for this, if it's the last thing I do."

CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR~

~CHRISTIAN'S POV~

I haven't slept for the past three days and now all I want is revenge. Revenge for my pups and the mother they will never get to know. Revenge for me and my mate that I have lost. And Revenge for the pack members that have suffered their own losses and deaths. I will take Devon down. If it's the last thing I do.

~MARIANNA'S POV~

I look at the moon goddess unsure. "Are you sure it's safe to do this? I don't want any of my pack getting hurt during this war. I don't want to lose anyone I care about." I say looking at her and notice a gleam in her eye like she knows something I don't.

"Trust me my child, no one on your side will get hurt. I will make sure of it. Just keep practicing on your magical talents and we will let everything unfold how it is supposed to." She says looking at me with that look only mothers can do. That look that says 'do as I say or pay the consequences.' I decide to listen instead of fighting back.

I just wish that I was with my mate right now. I have been feeling the effects of his emotions and right now it's not good for me to have any negative emotions running through me. I cancel them out as much as possible and keep working so that I can be with him again.

2 days later....

~CHRISTIAN'S POV~

Today is the day. The day I will avenge the death of my beautiful mate and Devon will pay. THIS IS WAR.

I strap the gun in its holster on my hip and make sure I have a bag of clothes tied around my ankle. We are going into this battle prepared and we are going to come out victorious.

My guards have been given the order to not inter fear with the fight. Why the king put out this command is beyond me. But, he is the king, so I have to follow the orders whether I like it or not.

"MEN GET READY TO DEPART"the king yells standing on the stage in the packs backyard. I give a few last requests and orders to Felix. While I'm gone no one is to leave the pack grounds and no children are allowed to leave their houses. I kiss each of my pups on the tops of their heads. "I will get revenge for your mother and my mate I can promise you this." I tell my little angel and put a kiss to her tiny forehead.

With that I turn around straighten my face and put on my most menacing look. "OK MEN! CHRISTIAN YOU ARE IN FRONT WITH ME. THE REST GET IN ORDER OF RANK. SINCE YOU ARE ALL MY GUARDS YOU WILL STAY IN THE ORDER YOU ARE USUALLY IN DURING BATTLE! WE DEPART NOW!" The king yells from the stage and I get in front and everyone else lines up behind me.

As we run I am having an internal battle with myself. A battle of anger, fury, and sorrow. I can't let my emotions take over my frame of mind. I will do this for my beautiful mate, my pups mother, and even for myself. I made a promise to her once that I would protect her and I failed. 'I promise you Marianna I will make this up to you.' I think to myself.

I start having a conversation through the link that only the king and alphas have. We talk about strategies and what will happen if we don't succeed. I make it my personal plan. There is no other option but to succeed.

As we arrive to the deserted opening, I notice we are the first to arrive. I feel magic pulsing through the air.  I see the king start getting really agitated and realize the magic we are feeling has to be from the Shaman Devon has working for him. I look around and see zombie like things coming towards us. 

I hear the king give the signal to attack. I feel my feet start moving without my consent. My head is blank and my emotions are neutral. How I killed off 25 of the zombie things without realizing it is beyond me. 

I feel myself being thrown back into a tree by a mysterious powerful force. I sense everything stopping around me. I look up along with everything else and see a beautiful bright light in my vision. So bright in fact I have to shield my eyes from the rays. 

The next thing I kow is that the bright light is gone and the only thing left in its place makes me gasp....

"IT CAN'T BE!" I Yell. It's not possible she's dead.

~MARIANNA'S POV~

THAT MORNING .... BEFORE THE FIGHT...

"OK my child it is time for you to make your apperance. It will take a while for you to appear in the clearing. To you it will only feel like two minutes while to them it has been four hours. Good luck my daughter you will do well." The moon goddess tells me. I feel her put a soft kiss on my forehead and I open my eyes to see her figure slowly disappearing.

"Thank you mother I will make you proud." I tell her. She looks at me with love in her eyes and admiration. 

"I know you will my child. I know you will. Good luck. You have a lot to decide and I will be there to help you make your decision. Just keep your family safe right now. We will talk later." With that she disappears with a loving smile on her face and great admiration in her eyes.

I start seeing bright lights all around and close my eyes and let the transportation take control. I open my eyes to see everyone starring at me wide eyed and open mouthed. Christian is yelling something and looks like he is about to pass out. 

"MARIANNA NICE OF YOU TO FINALLY JOIN US." Devon says behind my back. I put up a shield between my father and his fighters as well as Christian and turn to Devon. 

"BRING IT ON DEVON! YOU ARE ABOUT TO GO DOWN!" I yell before everything goes in slow motion.
