Justin stepped out of the air conditioned building and onto the pavement of the dirty streets of his home city. The heat hit him almost instantly. He had just wanted to make it to his car and cool off.
He was excited to be starting work soon. His boss didn't seem like those uptight job profession figures. Maybe he'd like this job.
As he was walking down the sidewalk wrapped in his thoughts of how to celebrate, he bumped into someone in front of him. He felt some liquid content spill onto him and a small gasp from the person he bumped into.
"This is just great," the girl muttered as she looked down and outstretched the edge of her shirt that now clung onto her body, drenched with the mocha drink which was once secured in her hand.
"I'm so sorry," Justin quickly responded, trying to find a napkin in his pockets, he came out with a small piece. Once the girl caught sight of the napkin, she released a laugh.
Justin met her eyes with his very own. They were a sea blue, bright and sparkling from the sunlight that pounded down on them. People were hurrying past them, so Justin and she stepped aside.
He was still staring as she let out a small giggle. "It's fine. Don't sweat it," she reassured him, looking down at her clothes. "The shirt will get fixed. It's the drink I'm worried about." She looked up and caught him staring at her.
Justin was so mesmerized by the girl's eyes and voice that he forgot to acknowledge her other assets. She had long, auburn hair that cascaded down her shoulder. The tank top she was wearing showed off her well figured body with curves showcasing in just the right places. Her legs seemed to go on for miles, but the best part of it was her smile.
It was genuine.
Justin quickly snapped out of his thoughts. "Well, in that case, I should be obligated to buy you a new drink."
"Oh, no. That's fine," the girl reassured him as she smiled. "I have to head home anyways. I hate downtown L.A. when it gets too overly crowded."
"Well then maybe another day? I won't be able to sleep knowing I had interfered with your desire for a drink." He smiled charmingly at her.
She let out a small laugh. "Are you trying to pick up a date?"
"Is it working?" He chuckled.
"You're cute, so yes." She noticed a pen stuck in his pocket. She took it out and extended his arm, tracing lines onto it.
Justin stood there, smiling as she finished and handed him his pen back.
"I promise it's not a fake number."
"I'm so relieved." He glanced down at his arm. "Miley. I like it."
The girl smiled at him as she sent him a small wink. She stepped aside and head her way in the opposite direction from where Justin's car was parked.
