I woke up to the sound of angry voices. My hair was still dripping and I was shaking with cold. To my left was a glass of water. I reached over and took a sip. I realised my mouth was dry and salty. I took a few. big gulps, before getting up stiffly and walking into the kitchen. Aron slammed his fist on the table "I WON'T LET YOU TALK ABOUT HER THAT WAY!!!!" He stormed out of the house, slamming the door. "What did you do!?!" I demamded to Loraine. "Me? it's your fault!!!" She screamed cruelly. We screamed at each other so loud that we didn't here Aron come back in "YOUR WORTHLESS!!!!!" She shrieked at me. "WHAT DID I DO WRONG!??!!!!!!!!!!" I screeched back and just as Aron walked in I raised my hand and slapped her across the face, hard. "HEY!!!!!" Aron yelled rushing to her aid. "I don't deserve to be treated like scum!!!" I cried unhappily. "Oh but she does!?!" He yelled. "I didn't say that!!" I screamed holding back tears. "Aron I feel disrespected, I feel hated!!!" I shouted weakly. "Well you know what!?! If you don't like it here you can just leave!!!!!" He yelled pointing at the door. I couldn't hold the tears back anymore. "Fine, I will leave!!!" I turned and flounced out tears streaming my cheeks. The first thing I thought was 'Amy' she was my big sister who made everything better with one fragrant hug. She had a soft voice and forgiving blue eyes her hair was dark like mine but she was taller than me. I pulled out my phone and clicked her contact, then 'Call' The phone rang and she answered almost instantly "Hello Beth, Is everything okay?" She asked. "Well no not exactly, remember I told you about Aron and how I was meeting his parents in California?" I choked sadly "Yeah" she pressed worriedly. "We had a fight and and well I need a ride home" I cried "I'll be there as soon as I can, is there somewhere you can stay?" she murmered. "Yes, see you in about 3-4 hours, Love you" I coughed "Love you too" Amy said, her voice full of empathy. I hung up and went to put the phone in my pocket, when it suddenly buzzed. It was from Aron "Beth call me, we need to talk" I saw another that said "I didn't mean it. I luv u x" I ignored them both and put my phone in my pocket. I walked down the street no idea where I was going, I came to a small cafe it looked comfy. I went inside not caring about my semi-wet hair. Inside were big slouchy red sofas and coffee tables. I sank into one of the sofas and ordered a coffee. It came and I added cream and sugar. I took a sip and texted my sister directions to the coffee shop. There were stairs in the far corner that people seemed to be going up. I finished my coffee, got up, payed and slipped up the stairs. I was amazed to find it was a bookstore. I stayed up there on a big armchair reading until I got a text from Amy telling me she was outside. I went downstairs and out the door. She was sitting in her red convertible, waiting. I got in. She looked at me. I looked back then buried my face in her shoulder and wept. Amy put her arm round me and pulled me close. "Everything's gonna be okay" She whispered. That was all I wanted, to be told. I didn't care if it was a lie, I didn't care. I needed the lie it kept me consoled for a while. But I already wanted Aron, I kept crying even though I had the lie. Because the lie is still fake and the truth's still there, waiting to be acknologed. Patiently waiting...
