68. Runaway

"Lauren, we can get out of here. we don't have to stay here."

"Josh, what are you saying?"

"let's be runaways."

Lauren Hunter was never the type of girl to do the rebellious things. she was always the smart, funny, outgoing, straight-a girl that everybody loved. Lauren was just... considerate and selfless, and wouldn't even hurt a fly. her parents were divorced, and her parents were either always at work, or out drinking with friends. her coping mechanisms to that situation were to listen to music and paint her life away.

Lauren hated where she was. she wanted nothing more than to leave that state of Ohio that she hated with all her heart.

but josh dun on the other hand, was a mysterious boy who suffered traumatic anxiety, flunked all of his classes because school was his least favorite place to be, and played drums to get his mind off things. he had a nice life at home with his family and his drum set that he had in his basement, but his social life could need a little fixing up.

but what happens when Lauren gets paired up with Josh to tutor him? do they become friends? enemies?

no, but they do realize that they have some things in common.

one being, that they both want to just get away from the hell hole they had been living in throughout their whole lives.
