Life has an odd way of playing out. First I was blind but could change how I looked. Now I have changed once again and I can see! My eyes are beautiful! I never imagined how I would look with eyes. But I'm amazing! All this newfound power as well...
Reggy. The demon from before who gave me eyes. I think he got them from a guy who was suffering eternally. A beautiful blue that sparkles like a diamond. But that means that now I can see myself properly. And Fuck me I look like shit. This tall, lanky, grey skin, pointy eared bastard wearing rags basically. The other species were right about Dwarves. They're too lazy to do anything that isn't digging. Fucking stupid pantheons.Anyway where was I? Oh right powers. Well it turns out that being a long living being means that you can practice a lot of Magic. Like Reggy had; Life, Death, Magma, Shadow, Sound, Space, Linguistic and all the dark arts. Which is fine for him cause he can't be affected by it. Me though, well it's taken a toll. My arm has slowly become made of magma as well as some ghostly aura around my being due to the death magic.
Finally after wandering around the collection because the hotel became boring. Reggy contacted me.
"Hello Daniel" the visage of Reggy's head appeared in front of me on fire
"What up Reggy?" I stood in front of him with a smirk on my face
"I told you to stay in a hotel in Scotland." He scowled down at me
"Yeah but I got bored. So I thought I'd send you some people who were on your list of collection." I looked right at Reggy and unfurled a scroll which had a large amount of names with lines struck through them "that would have taken you at least one millenia"
Reggy sighed "right so you helped me out. But those were small hits. There were three big hits in Scotland that would have been worth more to me then everyone you have collected if you doubled it. So good job."
"So what's my next move?" my confidence had sunk into the floor.
The head zoomed out to show a legion of demons behind him "I'm going to send you this small army. And you're going to kill them."
"And why do you want them dead?" I folded my arms slowly
"one of them is a necromancer, bad for business. Another has a useful curse on her. And the other is a dog who knows too much. Well there was three, now there is six." Reggy read out another scroll he was holding marked 'murderous bastards'
"You got anything on them?"
"A Halfling who is a farmer. Don't kill him. A human with plenty of secrets, kill if necessary. And something... Huh it doesn't say what it is." he looked confused at the scroll and looked behind him at a demon dressed like a secretary sat a reception desk "Linda what is this?" The Secretary shrugged "Oh for Fuck sake."
"How is that possible?"
"I dunno, I guess the higher ups couldn't get good recon on it." he double checked the scroll just incase "Well that's annoying."
"Right so kill on sight just in case?" I held up my magma hand
"Yeah okay. HOLY SHIT." He recoiled as he saw my arm "How often do you use magma?"
"on most of the people who I have killed. Looks cool though right?" I twisted my arm to show him how far it had spread.
"I mean kinda. Just be careful with it you dick."
"Fine. I'll use some of the other powers you have"
"You're such a moaner. Just head to the Ivory Dominion and I'll contact you there."Krista had never been to a army base. There were so many people running around and driving in groups. It was very odd to watch, too organised for her liking. Fortunately she was heading towards a large hangar with a large number of guards around it.
H stepped off the truck and greeted the General. He started by out stretching a hand. Then waited as the General went in to give him a hug.
The two conversed for a bit. Then slowly started to help everyone off. Dehaka being his stubborn self jumped off on his own. Dits passed Rory to a soldier and then stepped down as the soldiers helped the two women down.
"This is General Brady Simmons. We served together against the Drow hordes in the 80's."
"Harry. Come on now. I'm more than an old comrade. We were battle brothers" the General grabbed H's shoulder and pulled him in close "This guy managed to carve 170 Drow in one night on his own into a fountain of blood."
"That doesn't sound that impressive." Dehaka folded his arms and leant against the truck. "I could have done that."
"Ah yes. An Orc like you could. But can you in one blow?" The General looked at H who dropped his head. Dehaka just looked at H with a mix of amazement and disgust.
"Where's the fun of a fight if you end it immediately?"
"We were in a war. Fun wasn't part of it."
"Humans. As stubborn as ever"
"we're not all like that you know." Krista gestured towards her self. "When have I been like that?"
"You're still a teenager. Hopefully if we can, you can be better than this example of your species."Dehaka nodded towards the General.
"Can we just go inside please?" H kept his head down and walked into the hangar. To which everyone followed."Is it like the normal portals?" Dehaka walked next to the General looking at the giant stone circle with a large green wavy layer on its inside.
"Better. No travel distance. No falling. And no tourists." The General smiled and nodded towards 2 technicians at a control desk "Ivory Dominion right?"
"Uh.. You didn't know?" Dehaka stopped and looked at the general.
"Well no. Harry keeps things close to his chest if you don't need to know."
"Right.. Definitely the Ivory Dominion though." Dehaka returned to walking. Though slightly ahead of the General.Behind her Krista heard the General call out "2 5 2 7" and some people at a desk typing. Which caused the portal to slowly glow and widen in shape. Until it changed from a green to sparkling yellow.
"So uh. We just walk through it?" Krista put her hand into the portal "it feels so cold and tingly."
"This is different. Now let's go" Dehaka pushed Krista into the portal and grabbed Dits's arm.
"Fucking stupid Orc" H walked through the portal with his wife.
And as Rory stood there, in front of the portal. He screamed as a arm reached out from the portal. Grabbed him by the collar and dragged him through."Well what do we have here?" A new voice on the other side of the portal. Followed by an explosion. Krista looked up at the voice. And saw a Atilian Elf. With white skin, a pair of ripped jeans and a ripped T-shirt. Hair spiking straight up orange at the bottom, yellow at the top. With a bag, open, and filled with detonators.
"Looks like we have a new bunch of meat sacks." The man kicked Dehaka. "Quiet muscular... You're going to need a couple extra for this one. Now then, bag them."
