Graduation

Nicki's POV:

Wayne's mom was here this morning to wake us up. She said she will be there next to my mom in the crowd. I had put on a pencil skirt with a leopard pink silk top and some heels. I had my cap and gown hanging in the closet. All I know is that prom dress of mines was thrown on the bed last night. I was tired but me and Wayne's crowns were sat next to each others on the dresser. I smiled walking by it this morning.

"Okay baby we gotta go" he said.

"Do you have your stuff?" I asked.

"Yeah, I was just waiting on you" he said.

"Oh, okay" I said grabbing all my things and leaving out the house. As soon as I got in the car he took off.

"Baby slow down, we have plenty of time" I said.

"I know but we have to get a good spot" he said. I laughed alittle shaking my head. Wayne and his precious car. I turned the radio on and 'so good' was playing. I sung along to it until we pulled up to the school.

"You can go ahead and go in and I'll meet you" he said stopping the car in front of the doors. People were still walking in.

"Okay" I said starting to get out. I made sure I had everything and then went inside. I seen people everywhere and teachers were trying to gather people up.

"Oh Nicki you're here" said Mrs. Lovings moving me to other places. "Change in here" she said. I just nodded and put my cap and gown on correctly. When I finished I looked into the mirror at myself.

"You ready Nicki?" I heard her ask.

"Yeah" I answered still looking at myself. "I made it" I said walking out. She smiled at me as she told me where to go. I seen everyone in the line we had to be in. I seen Wayne walk in then change to meet us. He was at the front of the line though. I was in the middle somewhere.

"Alright everyone, it's time" said Mrs. Lovings as she opened the doors for us to walk out. When we walked outside to the schools football field, there was balloons, the section where parents sat, the podium, our seats and I just felt like life was flashing before my eyes. I walked to my seat like everyone else and just waited for it to start. I turned and seen both me and Wayne's mom sitting together along with my brothers. They waved at me looking so proud. I smiled waving back. Then principal Lawson went up to the podium.

"Hello everyone, today we are here to celebrate the achievement of our senior graduates on them becoming young adults. We all know they have worked hard and have been waiting for this day for so long. Today we are here to congratulate them on their success and hopefully there will be more success to come. Now our valid Victorian will come speak" she said going back to sit down. I watched as Mariah went up to the podium. I was surprised yet I wasn't that she was valid Victorian.

"Hi peers" she said. "I'm Mariah Carey valid Victorian and I have to say I'm proud to be celebrating this with all my classmates. I'm going to be completely honest and say I never did think I was going to be this in my graduation, but I did work hard for it. I knew I wants success and to prove I'm great. But now we can all say we are great. And I think everyone who has a cap and gown on today are. Just last night we celebrated prom and thanks to our king and queen for showing that everyone can be something" everyone started laughing and Wayne turned to me winking. "No, but I'm just happy to say for all of us that we have made it. We might of needed tutoring or help in any kind of way but today we can be happy and say we did it. We made it. We are successful and that we are great. I know I have loved this year more than any other year. And I have a confession. Even though we may have not been on great terms, Nicki" as soon as she said my name everyone looked at me. "I apologize. All those years of putting you down and having to be the mean girl to you I'm sorry. And I'm sorry to any other person who I have not gotten along with. I just think this has taught me a lesson that everyone can not have the best first impression but in the end you can see right through them to give them another chance. I just want to thank everyone who has been apart of my life. Friends, teachers, family, and even my enemies. Just thank you and I hope everyone has a great future ahead." She said. Everyone clapped and cheered as she sat back down. Mrs. Lovings came up to the podium.

"Thank you Mariah for the great speech. Now I would like to say a few words. For every student I have worked with, thank you for showing me that there is a lot of talent to be given off as inspiration to the world. I have helped most of you while you all have inspired me. Thank you for being awesome students. Do your best in your future and never stop believing or giving up." She said. We all clapped for her. Principal Lawson came up and started giving out diplomas. Shannel, Drake, Tyga, Dhea, Greg, Trey, Ciara, Future, Gucci, and Mack had their names called with a few other people. Then it was Rihanna, Yandi, and Wayne. I felt my name getting closer to being called. I thought about all my years of being in highschool and all the bad times and good times. Memories are long lasting.

"Onika Maraj" mrs. Lawson said calling me up. I stood and walked up to her. She smiled and moved my caps thingy to the other side and handed me my diploma and shook my hand. All of a sudden I heard Wayne yell "wait" and headed towards me.

"Wayne what are you doing?" I asked as the music stopped. He held both my hands and said very loud and clear so everyone heard.

"Baby even though we didn't win best or cutest couple like Tyga and Chyna in my heart and mind we did. I love you more than anything and any other person in my life and now that we are pretty much adults and not teens or kids I want to be done with the games. I wanna be done with just being friends and just another couple." He said. I watched as he got down on one knee. "I'm not asking for marriage right now but I am asking if you will be mine forever and one day be my wife because I really love you and you're the only person I see as far as being with for the rest of my life" he said. At that point I had tears to my eyes and a smile on my face.

"Yes baby" I said. He smiled and stood up to hug and kiss me. I heard everyone clap and cheer saying "awe". He went back to his seat and so did I as the music started. Everyone else got their diplomas.

"I guess it is safe to say this is very mood changing celebration" said Principal Lawson. We all laughed. "I have had a great experience being able to spend up to four years with each and everyone of you all. You've made me proud with your decisions and I'm happy to give you all your diplomas. Congratulations" she said. We all stood screaming and throwing our caps in the sky. I hugged a lot of people but the one hug I wanted the most was my moms. I went up to her as she held her arms out for me and I hugged her tight. She kissed my forehead. I then hugged Jelani and Macaiah. Wayne and his mom came and hugged me too.

"Come lets get pictures" my mom said. I took a picture with both Wayne and his mom, then me and my family, then me and the crew and I mean like everyone. Then the most important one, just me and Wayne. We stayed and talked then turned in our caps and gowns. Later that night we went out with everyone to a fancy restaurant. After me and Wayne went for a walk.

"So you meant what you said?" I asked.

"Every word" he said. I smiled. "You know this is the end of highschool?" He asked.

"Yep and I can't wait to keep moving forward with life" I said. I turned facing him and kissed him deeply. "And you will forever be my highschool sweet heart" I said. He just laughed.

"I know I will" he said. I laughed. Even though it was the end of highschool, it won't be the end of us...
