Melanie:

I got picked up by Jake's friends, Emilio and Ivan, who I noticed were twins and people who could barely speak english.

"How long have you two lived with Jake?" I said trying to make small talk.

I saw them look at each other before looking back to me. "Yes."

We finally made it to Jake's house after that awkward ride.

I got out and we all walked up to the front door. Ivan opened the door while Emilio was behind me.

"SURPRISE!" Everyone yelled, making me jump.

I saw Jake come to me with a camera in his hand and flowers in the other.

"Welcome to L.A, Melanie!" He said.

I pulled away. "You did all of this for me?"

There was balloons everywhere, confettii on the floor, a banner that said WELCOME TO LA MEL

"I'd do anything for you, Mel."

We just stared at each other until we heard Chance. "Jake..your camera is still on."

I giggled and pulled away.

He laughed. "Shit—sorry guys, I just got too overwhelmed that my bestfriend from Ohio is now living in Los Angeles, everyone..this is Melanie!"

"Hi!" I waved to the camera.

Suddenly we heard a knock on the door.

"Who could be coming at this time right now?" Erika said going to open the door.

She opened the door. Logan.

"Logan? What are you doing here?" Jake frowned.

He looked at him, tiredly. "You really think you could just sneak Melanie away from me without me noticing?"

"I just wanted to throw her a welcome party.."

"First off, you know she's tired from her flight..Second, you're throwing a party for her now?..And third, did you ever think of inviting me?"

"You're already going to see her everyday, I thought it'd be fun to hang out for a while. I was going to take her back home, she's with me."

"Whatever Jake..let's go Melanie."

I didn't want to leave but I also didn't want to start or cause any problems.

"Okay." I sighed. I turned to look at them. "Thank you all seriously for everything."
