After hearing out the story, he knew he needed to quickly change the topic because it was hard enough for Blaire that it happened and to be reminded about it. He babbled

"How are your parents doing? Do you still draw like you used to before? And I bet you’ve improve your skills in that sport you do than before because you’re the type of girl I know who is very capable of accomplishing whatever problems come in her way, a girl who is wilful, has faith, and a good person to everyone that cares about others first more than herself".

Blaire giggled at his attempt to make her forget the incident and smiled at the effort Max was doing to try to cheer her up but nonetheless answered

"They’re fine, thanks for asking. Thanks for tonight, if it weren’t for you I would be dead by now. You were always there for me, even before and when I was down when we separated our ways few years ago. The remembrance notes, letters, gifts you left me always reminded me what you would always say when I’m feeling down; ‘that you’ll always be there for me-both in heart and mind.’ Those words, that one sentence were my strength when I was sad and almost ready to give up. Thank you really Max J ".

Max were staring at Blaire admirably and remembering all their memories together made him to ask Blaire

"Blaire, would you be my girl again?" without stuttering or hesitation at thought.

Blaire was shocked by his question and didn’t utter a word that made Max worried about her reaction. He spoke again without further waiting for Blaire’s response,

"Sorry, I’m sorry for asking you that question out of the blue and with you in your current state even, and after what you have just told me. Forget it, forget I said anything, I’m sorry Blaire".

Blaire hearing out Max’s apology speech like he made a huge offense to her wasn’t what she intended for him to interpret with her reaction. She was just shocked that he just popped that question out of nowhere. Though it made her realize that somewhere deep inside her heart where she locked up the love she had for him in the past, still beats loudly and pounds in her chest achingly (but in a good way), that the only reason she went out with Peter was maybe because she was filling the void with something for her to forget their break-up (even though their break-up was a mutual agreement). Mentally scolding her brain that she was really a huge idiot, it was a stupid reason for her to do that just to forget their break-up. When she was about to speak, Max suddenly stood up and said

"It’s getting late, if I remember correctly, you have a curfew right. I’ll take you home, I also want to greet your parents and explain why you were late getting home".

Blaire didn’t make a single movement from her sitting position, reached out for Max’s shirt and pulled it slowly.

"Yeah, I’ll be your girl again. Please, don’t get the wrong idea that I agreed to make it as an excuse to forget about Peter, I said that because I meant it. I still have feelings for you, I’ve always had. Like I told you earlier, you were my strength when I was weak and down. I couldn’t forget about you that easily, so again, YES, I WILL BE YOUR GIRL AGAIN!" she said with a warm and loving smile.

Max was pleased with what he just heard and at the same time couldn’t believe it; he thanked Blaire over and over again with such delight. And due to the excitement; he lifted her up, hugged her like she will disappear from him again soon. Blaire yelped when she felt soft lips touch her cheeks; her thoughts were ~He kissed me! I can still feel those tingles when he kisses me even if it’s just the cheeks. Oh my, my tummy erupted with butterflies from the tingles~. As he put her down, he gave Blaire a loving smile and softly said

"I Love You" Blaire replied the same "I Love You".
