I had just gotten settled in at work before I got bombarded by my best friend.

Dakota- AYYYE! Bitch you didn't tell me you was coming back tonight.
Kori-I haven't talked to you today. Besides I missed my money.
Dakota- Oh you know I missed you. Specially running that god damn bar. I liked the tips but girl i don't know how you do it.

We hugged and talked somemore and was catching up. We had 15 minutes until the party started so I sat and talked to her.

Dakota- You meet the new owner yet?
Kori-New? what happened to Keith?
Dakota-Oh Hes still here. Im talking about his friend who was in jail. He got out and Keith told us that the other owner would start working here.
Kori- Oh. What he look like?
Dakota- Im not going to lie he is fine as hell but you who was the first one to hop on him.
Kori- Diamond.
Dakota-The exact hoe. She walks around her like she's queen bitch cause she's screwing one of the owners. But I heard earlier today he dumped her.
Kori-Thats what her ass get.
Dakota- Her and Snow got into a fight over him. Because he was trying to get up on Snow first but she was brushing him off cause she got engaged. Today's her last day by the way. But Lyric got jealous and started a fight with her.
Kori- Damn. I missed all the drama.
Dakota- You really did. And i can tell Keith missed you.
Kori(rolls eyes)- Keith is cool and all but i cant see myself with him. He a hoe. Besides. I got enough on my plate dealing with Rico.

I ran my hand through my hair and became stressed at the thought of Rico. Ive known Rico for 2 years and we've been together for a year and a half. But our relationship is on the rocks. I suspect he's cheating but hes so manipulative that he always gets me off the subject and I can never find any proof. I love Rico and I could see a future with him and we've been through alot. We recently just went through a miscarriage and thats when things started getting shaky. Not to mention the death of my grandmother. Rico hasn't been there for me much which is another reason why I suspect he's cheating.

Dakota- Rico still being a hoe?
Kori- I think.
Dakota- Girl why don't you leave him? Women intuition is telling you something aint right. Listen to it. Thats all the proof you need.
Kori- I dont want to give up on him Fox. I do love him.
Dakota- I know you do baby. But are you sure he still loves you?

I had to sit and think for a second. Rico hasn't been treating me the same since the miscarriage 4 months ago. Its like when hes home, hes distant. Dakota looked at me with the I told you so face. Just then security came and told us its opening time.

Dakota- Just listen to it Co. Women's intuition is never wrong.

She got up and went to VIP as I got up and went behind the bar. The dj started playing music and pretty soon the crowd started to pack in. And of course people always come straight to the bar first. I started pouring simple shots to get everybody's buzz started. An hour in , i had people ordering their third and fourth round of shots.

Frankie-Whats going on chocolate? I miss seeing your pretty face in here.
Kori-Im good Frankie how are you?
Frankie-Im better now that I see your beautiful self. So what I gatta do to get a chance outta you?
Kori-Frankie you know I dont deal with people from work. Plus you know I got a man.
Frankie-Well he aint right for you. If you were my lady you wouldn't be working here. Today would be your last day. Matter fact you wouldn't even finish this shift. Id have you home with a nice bottle of liquor and some soul food on the side.

I shook my head at Frankie. He was a regular here. He's in his early to mid 40s, dark skin ,bald headed and is as big as a teddy bear. But hes harmless and entertaining. I can always count on him when im having a bad night.

Kori- Do you want your patron and red bull?
Frankie-You know just how I like it baby.

I turned around and fixed his drink. Normally I would put more of the chaser in here then the liquor but its only his second glass. Ill give him a pass. From the corner of my eye I saw a figure come behinds the bar. I looked up and saw Keith and all of his pearly whites smiling down at me.
