Kanae

chapter three: home!

             About a month later, I was back in my home in my village. Before going home, I went to see Tatsuya, and there he was standing with his back towards me. I stood admiring how tall he had gotten; he too should be sixteen now. His jaw line is stronger and it appeared that he had been working out as well. I smiled. A small part of me thinking it wasn't him.

Kanae "Tatsuya..."

He turned around.

Tatsuya "Kanae? What happened to you? You were gone for so long."

Kanae "I'll tell you all about it later. I just wanted to come and make sure you..."

Tears, streaming down my face I didn't want him to see me like this but I was just so happy. Happy that he remembered me, that he was worried about me.

Tatsuya "well you better make sure you tell me all about it ok, I'll come back tomorrow you better go see your family."

I wiped my face, and watched him turn around and stand for a moment possibly looking to see if anyone was watching. I didn't know much about his side of the world, and if it is as harsh with the rules as it is on this side, he would be in as much trouble as I would be if I was caught. He turned quickly and smiled then ran off. I walked around to see if anyone was around. I looked up the sky an odd blueish/gray color. I turn to see Tatsuya was gone.

Kanae "right I'll see you tomorrow."

As I made it home I stopped at the front door. I was scared, scared to knock, scared of what they would think about me for being gone for so long. I raised my hand slowly, took in a deep breath and knocked. The door opened and mother stood their starring. I smiled.

Kanae "I'm home."

Mother "my god! H-Hiroshi! Hun!"

Father and brother ran to the door, Hiroshi pushing mother out of the way knocked me over, father was holding mother all of them crying.

Kanae "please no more tears. Can we go inside?"

Hiroshi "yes let's go inside, mother draw her a bath, I'll make you food"

Kanae "thank you"

Getting up I spot a candle burning I grabbed it not thinking and eat the small flam. Everyone was staring at me.

Father "my god you're not Kanae"

Kanae "what are you talking about father, remember I ran away about three years ago."

Father "I do; I just can't believe your alive. You were gone for so long."

Mother "your father, I and Hiroshi; love you, don't ever forget that"

I start going into my room and searched for something to wear. But everything was too small. I could hear mother and father talking.

Mother "Hun... she is Kanae look at her she still looks the same as she did 3 years ago."

Father "yeah I guess so... but where did she learn something like that?"

Mother "I don't know."

~3 hours later~

I had sat at the dining room table. I couldn't stop myself from looking around, it felt so nice to be home but I still had a strange feeling I couldn't overcome, I began to look down rubbing my wrist. Hiroshi had come up behind me and laid his hand on my shoulder, I slightly jumped at his touch, he paused and then sat down.

Hiroshi "are you ok Kanae you been acting weird since you got home... just what happened to you?"

Kanae "a week or two after I ran from you and Ren I was living outside then I started going from gild to gild building up my strength becoming more powerful. I was sleeping, when a man had kidnapped me, and forced me to work on this island. The day out there I started a hug fight killing several men, and injuring more. The time I spent their, where the scariest days of my life, each day I thought I was go die, and the living situation was..."
