chapter eight: two years later

Today is my 19th birthday. Sora is finally 14. But because of the hardship this world is facing right now, today is Minato, Ovibia, Miura, Sachiyo, Masato, Sora and my birthday. This Hardship is like no other, assassins have come in and destroyed the Magic consul, today is called the Majikko's end. I have been training for the past two years, learning black magic, and forbidden magic, I have learned the highest and the most complicated magic anyone can think of I have waited for this day hand in foot.

Ovibia "should we celebrate Tobi's birthday too? I mean it would have been her 19th birthday this year" everyone looked to the ground

Kanae "yeah."

Tobi had lost her life a year and a half ago she was assassinated in her sleep, doctors found a drug in her that would have slowly killed her and made her extremely tired. Everyone thinks it put it in her food. Also at that time Tobi committed a huge felony, for killing the guards of the magic consul, people are still calling her a trader. No one knows her purpose for the crime she committed. And most people don't want to know.

We all gathered around a table a small cake in front of us 8 candles were on it each one for each of us. We all wished and blow out the candles.

Sasuke "Kanae. You remember your mission, right?"

Kanae "yeah. I planned out everything last night I know exactly what I have to do."

Sora "are you sure I can't help out in this" I placed my hand on his head and shook my head no. I pulled out a small map.

Kanae "I'll enter by the large gates making it easy for them to spot me. Sora and Miura will enter as small children over at the north, east gate. Minato and Ovibia you two will enter at the north, west gate and act like locale shoppers. And Sasuke you're going by air making sure everyone is in place if you feel like something wrong jump in and stop it. Once the guards see me they will call for back up for the rest of you should be safe and be able to do your part. Any questions... no good we leave at sun down, get ready to move out then"

It was sun down. My eyes went red (Tobi trained me how to use the tengu and Masaki before she died, by giving Kanae some on the Michico blood) as I stepped closer to the gate doors, a guard spotted me.

Guard "SHE'S COME HURRY GET BACK UP! KANAE IS APPROACHING!" guards started running around pushing and shoving. I stopped half way to the gate, and pulled out my sword. "HURRY SHE IS ABOUT TO ATTACK!" I stood there waiting, watching. Then the guards stopped running around and looked at me.

Perfect, with one swing I'll end this. I raised up my sword and turned my body to the side flame empire, engulf. I swung my sword down sending fire burning down the gate, the men and the wall that protected the consul. I walked over then though the flames, I spotted the headsmen of the consul. And rushed in front of him blocking off his exits.

Headsmen "w-what do you want! Money! I have plenty of money just don't hurt me!"

Kanae "I'm not after your money so calm down. I want answers!"

Headsmen "ask anything!"

Kanae "was it your men that killed Michico Tobi?"

Headsmen "yes that was my men I sent them after finding out what she did and why. It was unforgivable, I told them if she resisted to kill her. And if she didn't put her in jail."

Kanae "why did she do it"

Headsmen "pay back for the Jorōgumo war three years ago, and so she could send a message stating that what the counsel doings are wrong and that we needed to improve the Magic consul. After she killed all the guards we tied to bring her him just to talk but she refused and said I rather die a thousand deaths then stay with you. So, I sent a hit men after her. She was in the hit book after all."
