Chapter 17 | Doubt

Lisa groaned as she heard endless beeping coming from her phone. It was barely 4am for god's sake.

She tried her best to ignore it, but it kept on going for like 10 minutes. She gasped as she almost hit her head with her lamp. She squinted her eyes since the brightness of her phone was blinding. As she went through her notifications, her eyes widened. Once she saw the names BLACKPINK and BTS together, she knew it had to be the rumours. Great, now they have to deal with delusional fangirls.

"YG girl group BLACKPINK having dinner with boy group BTS?"

"BTS spotted with BLACKPINK at luxury restaurant?"

"BTS's Jimin caught holding BLACKPINK's Rose's hand?"

"Jeon Jungkook and Lalisa Manoban secretly dating?"

And there were countless more articles, but if she bothered to go through them all it would be nighttime already. She really didn't understand how either YG or Bighit benefitted from this ordeal. In fact, shouldn't they be avoiding any dating scandals? Especially since they're still rookies? Isn't this gonna harm both groups instead? But she trusts both companies know what they're doing. Even if she doesn't quite get their motive behind this. Lisa decided to not think about it much and went back to sleep.

Soon enough it was already sunrise, Lisa was the last one to wake up. She smiled as she sniffed the welcoming smell of freshly brewed coffee. She expected to see everyone in the kitchen but to her surprise they were plastered in front of the TV watching... the news?? They never watch the news.

Jennie looked up at her. "Lisa you finally woke up! Come sit man. They almost caught Deimos but the bastard escaped! They only were able to arrest some of the men working for him."

Lisa's eyes widened, "You mean Deimos as in the most dangerous drug dealer in South Korea?! I-I can't believe it!"

"Yeah they even almost caught his hacker buddy. His name's Marco."

Lisa raised her eyebrows as a picture of said Marco was shown in the screen, "Ayee he's actually really hot. He doesn't look like he's from Korea though, is he hispanic?"

Rose spoke up, "I'm guessing he is, since his last name is Valenciana."

"Well damn, the police force must be really embarrassed about not being able to catch his ass. Well I'm gonna take a shower. We need to get ready for today's meeting with President Yang at that cafe anyways." Jisoo said as she stood up and yawned.

The rest groaned. "To be honest that email looked really suspicious. Do we have to go?" Rose whined.

Jisoo scoffed, "It seemed weird to me too, but how are we gonna think an email coming from that account is fake? Come on girls let's be positive!"

Rose sighed, "Alright..."

"Ugh do we have to go! I'm still not done watching Attack on Titan! I was planning on watching Psycho-Pass next!!" Tae whined.

"Taehyung you know very well we have to go. Now get your ass of that couch. You only have one hour to get ready till the chauffeur gets here." Jin scolded.

Taehyung groaned and looked over at Suga, "But Yoongi-hyung is still sleeping!"

Jin rolled his eyes, "Yoongi only takes about 10 minutes to get ready. You like to stare at your reflection for 20 minutes to see if you got any nose hair hanging out for fuck's sake."

Taehyung clicked his tongue as he got up, "Fine! I still don't know why Bang PD-nim would go through this whole mess just to talk with us?"

"Maybe he's out of the city and that's why he chose that specific cafe since it's closest to him? I mean we haven't seen him in a while. Whatever, just get ready!" Jin shrugged.

.....

"I still don't know how to feel about this." Lisa quietly said as they headed outside of their dorms. Her mind whirling around the worst possible scenarios that could result from this outting.

Lisa prayed to whatever god she believed in right now. It doesn't matter, she just needs to feel safe, and a divine being might be able to grant her that wish.

Her palms were sweaty, something just didn't seem right. It felt so rushed and mysterious.

The black convertible waiting outside for them didn't make her feel any less nervous either.

"I don't like the feeling of this, I've never seen that chauffeur before, and I know all of them..." Said Jisoo, quietly.

"Girls I checked and this café is out of the city! It's almost two hours away." Rose said worriedly.

Lisa's eyes widened, "What?! Oh n-no no this isn't right, w-we gotta go back. Let's just pretend we're sick or something." Lisa tried stepping back and turning around but Jennie and Jisoo stopped her.

"Lisa are you crazy? The cafe just happens to be far away, that shouldn't mean anything. Sure the car and chauffeur might look a bit... shady, but then again most chauffeurs wear black so that must be it right?" Jennie said.

"Right..." They all repeated.
